Tucker fought way better than Thomas, Tubbs and Williams vs Tyson and Willians wasn`t even fighting a prime Mike because he had sacked Rooney and looked awful against Bruno. Baer would have done far better vs Bruno than he would have taking on Tucker, his chin vs Tyson held up, none of the other three could survive Mike`s fast bombs.

    Short answer no.

Longer answer: assuming he gets a 2month training camp and at least 2 months rest between fights, he could take out a lot of them. Assuming this is a prime louis who doesnt age somehow, Hed be the favorite in 90% of these fights.

However some of the names that stick out tell me he might not win the first and would need to make adjustments in a rematch. Namingly:

-88 holmes: cant write him off even if its old holmes. Too much experience, skill, and heart to simply write off. He still has a slight height and reach advantage and he can take a punch. Louis would likely win, but anything can happen when a skilled veteran like holmes is involved.

-Tony tubbs: fast hands, good stamina, and good movement means louis will have to pin him down and gradually break him down. No way he just blasts tubbs out early. He has all the qualities that troubles louis even at his best.

-Buster douglas: im just gonna go ahead and say it...louis loses the first fight. Prime douglas was no joke, especially in tokyo. 6'4, 230 lbs, devastating uppercut, good lateral movement, one of the best jabs the division has seen, excellent work rate and he can take a punch. Hes every trainers dream and louis' worst nightmare.

Louis would simply not be prepared for a "modern" super athlete like douglas in the first go. He never saw anything remotely close to douglas. If he qaa frustrated and confused by guys like schmeling and conn, douglas would box his head off. That being said, louis likely comes back with a vengeance and wins the rematch having studied modern boxers and adjusting to the weight training and pace.

-ruddock: would be a hell of a shootout. Louis likely wins, but anything could happen and i wouldnt bet my loose change louis emerges unscathed. It probably ends up looking like the buddy baer fights.

-96 holyfield: its holyfield. I shouldnt have to explain why only a fool would bet louis simply demolishing him and moving on.

-02 lewis: like holmes, lewis simply has too much pride as a champion to simply roll over. Hed have to take louis out early as his stamina looked horrendous against vitali, but if he punches himself out hed be a sitting duck and would be stopped by the 8th round. Still, id be worried for joe louis as lewis has power in either hand and a significant reach advantage, hed be too dangerous to trade with. But 02 lewis simply doesnt have the cardio to try and outbox louis over 12.

Probably because his early round charge remained dangerous until the end of his career and he was the fastest starter in history.

But from rounds 4-12 and even more so 6-12 is where you could see how much he had regressed from his peak.
Both mentally and in terms of conditioning

Most guys couldn't get him to that point in the fight without hanging on for dear life and losing every round

    Louis cleans these guys out.

    Trevor Berbick

Tyson and Rooney both referred to Berbick as a tomato can, which was true. Renaldo Snipes and S.T Gordon completely schooled Berbick in his prime and both Snipes and Gordon are novices compared to Louis in his prime. Louis would cut him down quick.

    Bonecrusher Smith

He was a Great puncher and was very durable, but Smith was too slow and easy to counter for him to last against Louis. James Broad cut him down Larry Holmes gassed him out in the later rounds. Marvis Frazier also outboxed Smith in a close decision. I could see him landing a good shot on Louis, but in the middle rounds Louis would chop him down with combinations.

    Tony Tucker

Good boxer-puncher and he also had a good chin. However, he didn't have the inside game to deal with Louis, who would kill him on the inside. Tucker struggled a lot with a shot Eddie Lopez, who was completely out of shape.

    Pinklon Thomas

In his prime he was a promising heavyweight that never lived up to his full potential. He didn't have the lateral movement or punch volume to beat Louis, since Louis is levels above either Mike Weaver or Tim Witherspoon.

    1988 Larry Holmes

Larry was too old and inactive. Larry from the early 80's would give Louis a great fight.

    Tony Tubbs

Good talent, but like Tim Witherspoon wasn't disciplined enough to master his skill-set. He didn't have the punch or the conditioning to beat Louis.

    Michael Spinks

Spinks from the first Holmes fight would put up a decent fight for a couple of rounds, but even at his best Spinks wasn't as good as Conn or Walcott, so I see Louis stopping him in the middle rounds. I think Holmes would've stopped Spinks as well if the fight happened in 82 or 83, since by 85 both Larry's handspeed and legs were looking shot.

    Frank Bruno

Bruno had a great jab and power, but he'd get cut down. Bruno didn't match up well with effective aggression, power, and combinations, which were three things Louis specialized in. Witherspoon and Tyson both cut through Bruno like butter and Louis would also.

    Carl Williams

Had a great reach and jab, but his lack of chin would get him killed. If Mike Weaver can knock him out Louis kills him.

    Buster Douglas

Well rounded fighter with good power, but he had a habit of mentally checking out at times in fights. This got him knocked out against Tucker and almost cost him the Tyson fight. Even Douglas from the Tyson fight would get stopped in the later rounds, since Louis could fight well on the outside and the inside while Tyson was almost harmless on the inside.

    Alex Stewart

Stewart had great power, but he had a very bad habit of squaring up and waiting, which got him killed against Tyson and Moorer. He also left his body wide open when he threw hooks, which would result in him getting countered by Louis every time.

    Henry Tilman

Great amateur, but he didn't do that well as a pro. A novice Bert Cooper easily beat him and so did a novice Evander Holyfield. His chin was also no good as a pro.

    Razor Ruddock

Good puncher, but didn't have the skill to keep him in a fight with Louis. Even a shot Joe Louis would never quit against David Jaco or draw with Phil Brown. Marvis Frazier would've beaten Ruddock and Frazier is no Joe Louis.

    Peter McNeely

    A tomato can.

    Buster Mathis, Jr

He wasn't half as talented or skilled as his father, who Louis would also beat.

    1996 Evander Holyfield

Evander Holyfield in 1996 was a greatly diminished fighter. He was coming off losses to both Moorer and Bowe and he also started packing on too much size. Holyfield from 1990 gives Louis a great fight, but Holyfield from 96 didn't have the gas tank or handspeed and would get stopped by Louis.

    Frans Botha

    Tomato Can.

    Orlin Norris

Good boxer, but didn't have the power or punch volume to beat Louis.

    Julius Francis

Got stopped by the inferior Klitschko brother Vitali, who would've been lucky to rank in the 1930's.

    Lou Savarese

Didn't have the chin or punch to last with Louis.

    Andrew Golota

Good fighter that never lived up to his full potential. But, losing to Michael Grant says it all about his chances of beating Louis.

    Brian Nielsen

He would be a punching bag for Louis.

    2002 Lennox Lewis

Lennox in 2002 was past prime and too heavy to beat Louis. Lewis in 1999 would've given Louis a great match, since Lewis was in his prime and still had his speed and timing. After the second Holyfield fight Lennox got lazy with his conditioning and was simply coasting.

    Clifford Etienne

    Couldn't beat Botha.

    Danny Williams

Good puncher, but his poor defense would get him destroyed.

    Kevin McBride

    Tomato can.
