With David Hayes recent victory over Enzo Maccarinelli, it leads me to believe that maybe the fight with Joe Calzaghe v Bernard Hopkins might have a different outcome than most expect.

Its apparent that B-Hop as skilled as he is may be able to expose Calzaghe, just as he did with Tito Trinidad.

I'm still going with Calzaghe but the closer the fight comes the more it seems like B-Hop might just be able to pull off the upset.

He has the edge on experience against top opposition and he has been on the big stage plenty of times before. I know Calzaghe is used to being around a large crowd, but has he been involved in a universally recognized mega fight. It won't be him in the spot light alone - he'll be sharing it with B-Hop.

    Just a thought ...

    what do you guys think?

No......don't even compare Enzo Maccarinelli to Joe Calzaghe.....and the reasons you give for Calzaghe possibly losing bare no relevance to the fact that Maccarinelli got beat so what's your point?? that Hopkins has a shot against Calzaghe?? DUH course he does but he aint gonna win

Aside from Jones, which of his opponents have similarities to Joe Calzaghe? Which of his opponents are better than Mikkel Kessler, whom Joe just beat.

    Again, aside from Jones.

With Enzo Maccarinelli's exposure (humiliation), it did cross my mind that it may well make Enzo Calzaghe think twice about allowing Joe to face any future real live opponents. The camp rarely allow risky opponents; this was an exception and look what happened. It could well have pulled the plug on Joe's Career.

I didn't see the fight, nor have I seen Enzo fight, but it was just a thought considering .... they share the same trainer, they spar together alot, and i'm sure that they have simular styles.

Just a thought though ... can you explain?

Jones was the best fighter Hopkins faced, Joe would be the 2nd best he faced, at age 43. Joe isn't prime, far from it, but there is a disparity still.

Yet some think he's going to win.

Does anyone think this fight will effect Joe's performance against Hopkins?

NO...why would it??? Joe's confidence is unshakable....never lost in 17 years....Hopkins lost twice to a dude that Kelly Pavlik beat so I'd be more worried for him than Joe....Plus you haven't even see the fight.......what point you trying to make??

Yeah bro, but you can't use that he beat this guy, who beat this guy, that beat that guy system.

I believe that Joe is capable of winning and i'm picking him to win -- I also believe that B-Hop is one of those guys, who when the odds are against him, steps up to the challenge.

A loss to his stable mate may cause Joe to rethink his tactics ... I had Tito and Tarver beating Hopkins and they both lost convincingly.

Could a knockout loss be on his mind?

Will he show B-Hop more respect?

That's your fault, because neither brought anything to the table to trouble Hopkins, even looking in. I picked Hopkins both times.

And don't compare Tito and Tarver to Joe Calzaghe, the difference in challenge level is in the extreme.
