Tito was a welterweight for cryin' outloud and Tarver was/is a one trick pony......of course Hopkins has a chance but the Enzo fight wont bother him at all in terms of his fight cos he has more confidence, more speed, more boxing intelligence and so one defeat wont change a heck of a lot.....Maccarinelli has only been with Team Calzaghe for 18 months so its not like a lifelong stable mate lost.....thats like saying B-Hop quit before the fight cos his nephew did

I'll have a few bones on Pops on principle, but there are no, none, nada parallels between tonight and Calzaghe's chances. I don't even see why or how you would try to make that connection.

Enzo lives in Wales and lost to a black guy? That's some deep handicapping.

    HAHAHA Antwon Echols

Even Howard Eastman troubled Hopkins.....don't believe the hype in terms of Hopkins beating Trinidad and De La Hoya cos thats like Joe Calzaghe beating Floyd Mayweather.....look at the Jones fight where a fast fighter beat him all ends up....and that was a prime/young Hopkins....how is an old Hopkins gonna deal with speed without playing dirty?

    .

    Sigh...

De La didn't belong at 160 at all. Tito did.

Don't let latter day Mackie Shilstone Hops fool you into thinking he was always some kind of physical beast. He was practically a vegan and trained like a madman. He was not some Nacho Beristain-trained weight swinging freak.

As far as fighting smaller men, I guess Chris Eubank spent his entire career at 168? Oh that's right, he didn't.

Old man Hops has forgotten more about the game than young Hops knew.

You bet your ass he'll play dirty, and he'll get away with it because he's that good at it.

There are going to be so many people shitting bricks come April 19... :rofl

When the robotic Kessler does half of what Winky, Tito, and Taylor has done in the sport then you can try to make that arguement. Until then don't try.

Which of any of Hopkins opponents, aside from Roy Jones, are better fighters than Mikkel Kessler is and why?

Let's single out a few that stand out -

Wright, Tito, Taylor, Johnson, Vanderpool, Joppy

Any of these guys more a challenge than Mikkel Kessler to a MW-LHW?

    I don't think so.

Nah, no trouble at all, but he let some early rounds go due to starting slow. I had it 9-3, that guy just went on boxrec and didn't see shutout 120-108 scores.
