No ****. Now Kessler, who has maybe two good wins, is better then Tito or anyone else Hopkins beat? atsch I don't even think Kessler is ahead of Joppy in P4P terms.
If anything joes face looked pissed last night with his fellow welsh man losing,he is going to take this pain and hate out on hopkins face, maybe show him that hey a white boy can in fact beat him,i reckon hes going to murder hopkins and redeem his dad and his team from last nights very poor showing
Hopkins never gets beat up you can only beat him on points....maybe calz workrate will get him the win he certainly not going to whoop b-hop at all.....Im for b-hop by the way... real talk
Don't be surprised if Hopkins pulls off the upset ... i'm going with Calzaghe but i'm not going to bet money on it. There's something about this fight thats unclear to me ... at this point in their careers everything is thrown out the window and it comes down to who wants it more. You can compare alot of things between the two but the obvious thing is that these two must fight. And who's going to show more respect?
The only people who are going to get destroyed in this shitfest are the fans. Who the **** wants to watch two spoilers get it on? I sure don't. I will say this though. Calzaghe is not Enzo. Not even close. Enzo would be lucky if Calzaghe just paired with him on the terms of being Welsh. Forget the rest.
Oh thats another good point ... this fight could be a snoozer and somewhat like Taylor v Hopkins 1 Alot of quick engages, followed by clinches ...
Let's be absolutely clear about what this Mikkel Kessler fight has to do with the upcoming Hopkins fight. Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins took on very difficult opponents at slightly similar weights in Mikkel Kessler ( 168 lbs) and Winky Wright ( 170 lbs) in 2007 and won by similar scores - Hopkins by 116-112, 117-111 (twice) and Calzaghe by 117-111, 116-112 (twice). There is no evidence that Kessler should have been rated above Winky and wasn't P4P. Kessler presented physical problems to Joe that Winky wouldn't ( to Hopkins) and Winky presented technical problems to Hopkins that Kessler wouldn't to Joe. Let's consider that Calzaghe threw 460 powerpunches on Kessler and landed 148, Hopkins threw 549 powerpunches on Wright and landed 143. Calzaghe threw 1010 punches but only landed 28 % of that - 285 total punches and both Hopkins and Wright landed 152, 167 which is very similar to kessler's 173... Listen, this argument about Kessler is not very objective. People consider the bulk of Kessler, the looks of kessler, the unbeaten record of Kessler... You want to know what Enzo said about Kessler before the fight? "I'm not taking anything away from Kessler. He's a good boxer, he can whack a bit, and he's never been beaten. Joe would have to have a piece of rope tied to each of his feet and both hands to be as immobile and labored as Beyer and Andrade were... Look, Kessler is very predictable in what he does, setting up the right hand with his jab and doing everything in straight lines... It's an entirely different thing for any fighter getting in the ring with Joe Calzaghe and, with a crowd of 60.000 at the Millenium Stadium, it will be something Kessler has never experienced in his life." Now, Calzaghe and his fans just talk about Kessler like he's some sort of trophy but he is not going against an unexperienced fighter in his Millenium Stadium anymore... There are a lot of fighters that Hopkins faced that presented the same sort of obstacles that Kessler presented to Calzaghe - Glen Johnson was 32-0, 22KOs, Antwun Echols had 22 Kos in 22 fights, Tito Trinidad was undefeated and a three Division World Titlist, Tarver had beaten Johnson and Roy twice... even Roy Jones was 21-0, 20 Kos and he said he was very respectful of the former IBF number one contender, went 12 rounds and never took any chances with this guy, won by 116-112 scorecards with potshots ( leading left hooks and flush right hands from range) that Calzaghe doesn't have or cannot unleash on Hops... And let's face it, prime Jones is one of the best ATGs. Calzaghe-Hopkins is not exactly a 50-50 fight but it is very close to it, the rest is just hype.
Joe Calzage is a proven entity, but anyone can get caught. Enzo got caught and should have taken a knee, the result may have been the same but he did not give himself a chance to recover taking a few more big shots, also what if Mac landed the 1st big one...I think Haye was a stupid fight to take unless the $$$ was too much to refuse, he had the amatuer pedigree and it showed. Enzo Mac became champ and has showed some power in the past he may be able to come back. Joe Calzage has a few more fights left, if he gets past Hopkins, they will probely look to match him with Woods/Tarver winner and then either Roy Jones or who ever else will be a Big money fight at 175
I don't see the correlation :? Joe Calzaghe is much better than Enzo, Hopkins fights nothing like Haye and is performing at a lower level. It's a different weight division, in a different country The only similarity is that you have a fighter from the same gym, with the same trainer which means **** quite frankly
As always, Joe by UD is my prediction. I see no way Hopkins pulling it off on the cards... more like a headbutt and a TKO or technical decision after a cut really does bad for Joe... But! Those nasty inside hooks of Hopkins are just superb! Remember he used those to land the biggest shots in the Winky fight, he knocked down Tarver with it as well as Allen and Tito... Boxing world is quite quiet about it but Nards best tool always was his great timing and Calzaghe is pretty wide open for THOSE shots. Hopkins does it really well. He moves his body and his shoulders to move the opponents off balance and throws the hook. And they don't see it coming... But Calzaghe's chin is pretty solid and the workrate and speed is truly amazing so I'm not sure if Nard can land those shots cleanly. A better question here: Could Joe tast defeat the same as Diaz? Well... still not a proper question. They are not the same (Calzaghe is an awkward boxer/brawler, Diaz is a solid classic brawler with great punch variety) and Hopkins won't throw 1145 punches... Calzaghe UD... but he's gonna taste the Hopkins hook!
I wonder what these boards are going to look like when BHop beats Calzaghe? Probably a stream of "Joe is overrated!" or "Joe was never really that good.", LOL. I just want folks to give BHops his props as a ATG when he give Joe C his first loss. :yep
