On the basis of koing ONE NAME MIDDLEWEIGHT?
He is known as one of the hardest punchers of all time.
    There is a difference.

And Herol Graham's chin was rumoured not to be the best. If you recall, Graham in his prime was a supremely slippy switch hitter who hardly ever got tagged. There might be a reason why he went down that route as a youngster. If you know you don't have the best chin you try and not get hit..

There's not a shred of factual evidence to support that JJ was the hardest MW puncher of all time. There's no way to tell if JJ hit harder than any of the guys on that list or even Hearns or Mugabi for that matter. And for the guy that said that Hearns never carried his power above 154 - go and watch the Roldan, Andries or Shuler fights.

IMO Jackson hit harder than Hearns and could have hurt Hagler and maybe dropped him for a flash but Hagler would break his heart when his chin took it and he walked in swinging harder like a machine.

I picture Hagler when Mugabi threw everything he had and Hagler like a machine kept coming as if it was another day at the office.

Jackson couldn't dent Thomas Tates whiskers at 160.

I don't think that is really true. It's been a while since I've seen the fight but Jackson dropped him and I think he hurt him several times.

True and I was exaggerating things a little but Tate (and later McClellan) did absorb some massive shots from Julian and survived them and I'm certain someone with Haglers adamantium chin would be able to as well.

That said Jackson at 154 is without a doubt the hardest single puncher p4p I've ever seen. I've never seen someone separate so many people from their senses with a single shot (with both hands as well) like Julian did. Fighters looked like were shot dead when he hit them. Frightening stuff.

He was still devastating at 160 (ask Herol Graham) but not quite to the terrifying extent he was in his jnr middle pomp.

Well the question is could he "have come close to denting Haglers whiskers" well the answer is yes if Hagler let him, even the marvellous one would be in trouble if someone of Jackson's power hit his unprotected chin.
It'll be an unlikely occurrence however because regarding class and ability Hagler was streets ahead of Jackson.
