At WW, highly doubtful. He just wasn't the same fighter we was at WW that he was at LW. NOt to mention past his best buy a lot. Little too much hero whorship going on...

20 years later and you Chavezittes are still delusional as hell.

Chavez made a career beating off little people and tijuana cab drivers. He would of quit on his stool by the 5th round against Margo. Once a quitter always a quitter.

    Edwin Rosario
    Meldrick Taylor twice
    Greg Haugen
    Roger Mayweather
Mario Martinez (at 20 years old)
    Julio Cesar Ramirez
    Greg Haugen
    Hector Camacho
    Juan Laporte

All these and plenty of other quality top contenders. Very rarely had a title defence against somone who was not in the top 5 let alone top 10. When you have that many defences your bound to beat some smaller guys.

All those guys on that list were better fighters than Margarito. WW versions of Camacho and Taylor would of decisioned him, but clearly WW isn't those fighters domain. If Margo would fight them at their weight he'd get owned. LW versions vs WW version of Margo it's a no contest. Margo is one of the most overrated fighters ever.

But those fighters are much more stylistically more different than JCC. Taylor and Camacho would of fought on their backfoots against Margo. What many of the Chavezittes are seemingly trying to say here is that JCC would of gone toe to toe with Margo and won by KO.

dude, when it comes down to chavez you type with your ass....so there's no reason at all why i should take anything you say about him serious.....just pisses me off that you discredit him so much...you dont have to like him, but to talk **** about a great fighter like him clearly shows a bunch of ignorance.....

manny and mosley hurt him to the body and didnt really commit to body punching...just imagine what chavez would've done to his inner body with all that "in-fighting"

147 it's a pickem. Chavez had problems with quick fighters with right hands; Margo was slow as **** and even though he had a right hand, it was a telegraphed one and he needed space to load and unleash it. The only punches Margo was effective on the inside were uppercuts. Margo is the naturally larger man, but don't underestimate JCC. Remember he had JLC and Mosley as sparring partners and what he did to Taylor. Margo would of been a much easier target and wasn't as dedicated to the body as JCC was.

Your right on about JCC not being a great WW, neither was Margo, but I think JCC's last great performance was his win over Taylor and that Chavez would get a decision over Margo. A hard fought, back and forth battle, where both were consistent, but the shorter JCC ripping Margo to the body and then landing bout ending right hands like he did with Taylor is being modest to Margo. I have no problem choosing that version of JCC over Margo. We know already Margo has an iron chin, but he can be hurt badly to the body and no one did it better than JCC.
