Of course he could. He already beat Kotelnik, it was a close fight and would be 50/50 but very winnable. Kendall Holt has a horrible glass jaw. Very winnable. Perhaps he could perform better against Bradley in a rematch. The least winnable. Getting a shot is going to be harder than winning one back.
I'll take Kotelnik in the rematch, the first one was very close, could have gone to Kotelnik, and Kotelnik dominated the entire second half of the fight if I remember correctly.
Maybe if he can get into position for a shot early enough, He is nearly 35 after all and seems to be a bit in the president of the who needs him club category - a boring fighter who will make you look bad even if you beat him. Saturday's fight was a total waste of time, he simply reverted to type from about four years ago when he was beating up those 14 straight cab drivers after the Judah fight. Witter is a great flat track bully and is always going to look good against that level of competition. But at his age he needs meaningful fights and quick, and since his activity level seems to be about two fights a year atm, that farce the other night can only go down as a waste of six months!
If he gets a shot at any of the current holders at 140, I would back him to win. He has already beaten Kotelnik He lost on a SD (should have been UD) to Bradley - with personal problems Kendall Holt would be KO'd He would beat either Urango, Ngoudjo or Paulie The only one he would lose to is Hatton - but as TKO says, he is hardly attractive to TV and fans, he brings no money, no ticket sales. Nothing. Other Brit fighters to travel across the pond have always brought something - Hatton fans, Calzaghe fans, Lewis fans, Naz marketability. Witter is neither popular, marketable or good to watch.
But, when Witter is in those big fights he folds up. Zab and Bradley. In these fights he didn't show what made him good in his other fights.
I think he could beat Ricardo Torres (although Bradley floored him with a big right hand so maybe Torres would have the ever enviable punchers chance). He already beat Kotelnik, if he can crack Holt's chin he could get a KO..although a decision win is probably the best bet. I think he loses to Bradley, Hatton and potential Urango.
hw was green when he faced judah, he took the fight on short notice and zab was in his prime coming to p4p no1 status
