Duran deffo avoid a rematch for a good reason but could Ken have beaten him?

I say on the right night he could. Depends on the referee. If the referee is strict on duran, Ken really gets a grip on the fight

i think without the firepower to hurt duran, buchanan always gets overwhelmed eventually. banks rounds, uses that beautiful movement and sharp jab but a lightweight duran always finds his way in

No even with all the skill and discipline in the world Ken didn't have enough of a punch to swing it his way.

I don't think so; Ken was a very skillful, quick, tough guy, but not enough ammo to keep a young Duran off him.

A prime Duran had to cheat his way to victory first time out. In a rematch, Ken wears a metal guard. and puts Duran in his place

yeah agree with everyone. Buchanan would most likely make a fight out of it in a losing effort like he did in the last fight. It would always be competetive but in the end Buchanan lacks the firepower that he would need to truly beat Duran

I guess it's just you and me...if you are serious! I imagine Duran would win in most scenerios. But on the right night, right circumstances and perhaps Joe cortez or something and ken could pull off an upset.

I don't find it the likely scenerio and would not pick it or wager on it...I just don't think the gap between the 2 is so drastic as to say ken has no shot!

He couldn't even get a DQ win from being hit low after the bell.

Duran had n't even reached his peak when he fought Buchanan. As much as I admire Ken's skills,Duran would have won by a bigger margin, had they meta again.

I think Buchanan was super tough and skilled, and he would have taken Duran to the full 15 round limit in a rematch, but beaten him....no.
