Was just wondering if at any time up until his last fight at lightweight with Barrera in March 09 he would have been able to beat any of the "world" titlists that reigned during that period?

He was huge for the weight and was very offensively minded to the point of having very little defence, his chin was very weak at the weight due to a number of factors, i will have to say no.

He could've possibly hand picked one like he did at light welterweight but the champions were tougher then. Plus he was too big to be a lightweight really and that can't have helped his punch resistance at all. I'm really surprised no one said to Khan before that he shouldn't have been making himself that light but they all just sucked up to him too much.

I doubt it. Would liked to have to see him try though. Mind you, it would've been nice to see him earn his shot at Kotelnik, but he didn't. But that's another story.

I don't think he could have won one, which is why moving weights was a pretty good move. His punch resistance wasn't great at lightweight where the opposition was much faster than at LWW...plus he managed to get a shot at Kotelnik who was probably the weakest LWW champ at the time.
