Could Khan vs Alexander/Bradley in July sell out MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay???

No way. Khan-Alexander would sell 17,000 seats in St. Louis, but that's it. Khan-Bradley doesn't sell well anywhere outside of London, IMO.

 

Why would khan be a bigger draw in London than any of the northern UK venues closer to his home town?? Khan could sell out the MEN in Manchester EASILY.

 

Newcastle metro arena sold out when he fought Salita. He could easily sell that out again for Bradley. Or even 02 arena in London.

Manchester MEN arena would be a good location - easy for people to get to from north / south.

 

Probably not. Khan-Maidana did not do good ticket sales in Vegas. It's also not easy to sell all those tickets in the summer.

It sucks, some really crappy fights sell a lot of tickets, or sell PPVs, or do good cable ratings, while good fights like Khan-Maidana often do poorly.

 

Problem in the US is that no one knows Khan. In the UK, he could walk into a mall in any major city and he'd get mobbed by the general public, let alone fight fans. I remember reading ages ago that when he used to fight on terrestrial tv in the UK a few years ago, at one point he was hitting 6million UK viewers watching his fights!

I really think it's a shame he's gone to the US only to put on great fights in half empty arenas which can't even be filled with free tickets.

 

Will be hard to sell 10,000. Boxing in the US isn't doing well. Marquez-Katsidis and Williams-Martinez also only had 5k in attendance.

If they take it to the UK they can sell 20-30K, but Bradley or Alexander wouldn't be willing to go there.
