He could have been somewhat competitive though, but likely hampered by taking time off, not being focused... being mismanaged or something along those lines.

No way. Not even a fringe contender. His chin is pure china. He wasn't even impressive for a late bloomer let's be honest. Browne started at 30, Ray Austin and Tony Thompson in their late 20s. I strongly doubt Kimbo didn't box or do something similar he was younger either. His cousin has been into combat sports his entire life.
