he aint as quick as jones.

he aint a defensive wizard like toney with a chin of steel.

so i dont think so but he could ko a few heavies if he bulked up.

No, he is not big enough. His actual frame is not big enough. Some guys are just big-boned, like Tua or even Adamek. They are bigger guys. Kovalev would get KO'd if he ever went up and fought good competition in the HW division.

Why you ask could, he can if he stick his mind to it. Chris Byrd did it and he didn't have the body strength that Sergey has or the handspeed or the flashyness that RJJ used to have to dry poor ole John Ruiz. All Kovalev has to understand is not gonna be easy winning titles or unifying titles either at LHWT, CW or HW even 3 or 4 years from now. People were astonished with his pop and went on to say potatoes that it would be almost as granted that he would have Staevenson and Hopkins at his feet. Nahhhh.

KOvalev is not 20 yo and has had his entire career at LHW or below.

Chris Byrd was a 200+lb fighter who drained himself to make 175 and got KTFO by a nobody just to spite himself.:-:)-:)-(

Byrd would dominate and probably KO KOvalev if Sergei were to move to HW during Byrd's best yrs 99-07:deal:deal:deal

That second point is horse****, Chris was a middleweight at somepoint even if it was back in the amateurs so he grew to above 200+lb fighter.

Whether if Byrd would dominate Sergey at HW with his skills and moves that would remain to be seen but I would put myself on the line concerning kayoing Kovalev. Byrd did Ko 22 guys out of 41 but they were guys you never heard of... Wins by decision, listen, were against guys like David Vedder, Maurice Harris, David Tua, Evander Holyfield, Fres Oquendo, Draw with Andrew Golota, Jameel McCline, DaVarryl Williamson. Oh, and hear this, all last 5 fights lost by kayo Wladimir Klitschko, Paul Marinaccio, Alexander Povetkin, Shaun George and Matthias Sandow. So on what GROUNDS do you u say he would KAYO SERGEY? Don't say, go sell your stinking fish elsewhere please and pardon for the harsh words.

I honestly don't know if Kovalev could make CW, let alone HW.

I also don't think his power would carry up to CW.

He could make CW. Even fecking Cleverly made CW and he looked much bigger than him.

    HW, who knows.

His Power would carry up to CW, he's a monstrous punching LHW. I doubt his power carries up to HW though, much to small.

No, completely wrong style to beat the big men, it's like asking could roy jones have gone in with one of the big heavies and be aggressive, push him back etc, never going to happen.

I think he can win a CW title, but not HW. He could make the top 10 in HWs just like Adamek did. It's not that he's really skilled, but because the divisions above aren't deep with talent.
