Could Kovalev WIN a Heavyweight title one day?!

I suppose if Fury had the title, a bulked up, in-shape Kovalev would have a decent chance of knocking him flat.

 

Fury aint that bad. Why is everyone downplaying him.

 

i reckon kovalev could bulk to about 190-195lb max he isnt huge and most cruisers only go to 210-220lb. i think cunningham was about 205-210 vs fury, and he always ripped to the core.

imagine fury laying on kovalev and using roughouse tactics like he did vs USS, kovalev would get seriously hurt.

Since Kovalev KOes 88% of his opponents and Cunningham KOes 36% of his opponents and USS had Fury in some serious trouble, I think there's a good chance that Fury may not be upright long enough to use his size to wear down Kovalev.

 

He'd have no significant success at HW. I'd put big money on Fury against Kovalev. Pretty silly to even suggest this match up lol.

 

Cunningham was also perceived as being a silly opponent too until Fury fought him, then everybody wouldn't shut up about how much Fury sucks for a couple of weeks.

 

Yeah totally unfair to Fury imo. The dude got caught then came back and stopped his opponent. Idk why he gets so much heat for that. But the reason I say Kovalev won't be successful is that small guys that have any success in the HW division these days are athletic. Kov is just powerful but he isn't athletic. He wouldn't be good as a HW imo.

 

Fury is the type to be beaten by a smaller man. His size and experience isn't a substitute for talent.

 

Come on man. Tyson fury is 9 INCHES taller and has over a 10 INCH reach advantage.

I say No. I don't think he can make it in the HW's. I know the HW division is weak but I still think it is a stretch.

 

I don't think it would be physiologically possible for him to make HW

 

He's big boned enough or whatever.
Tony was skinny, and never looked like a big SMW, or LHW.
He hit the weights, and with his apparent love for food he grew into a small HW.
Food+weights=weight gain. It's that simple.
You don't even need roids to jump several weight classes if you do a crap ton of squats.
He could well do as good as Moorer who had a real chin problem, but did well anyway.
Or he could fail?
But the jury is out. I think he would make some exciting fights if nothing else.
If you think about it the HW division is weak enough Kovalev could definitely make noise.

 

BTW he gets a title shot, by fighting smaller HW's, and avoiding the big fighters until a belt fight.
Pick your spots, and sneak into a title shot.........
What you think in 2014 anyone wants to really earn a shot haha.
