Internet tough man. How is that not a game plan? Maybe watch a Marciano fight or two and you’d see the numerous ways at which he was able to close the gap. Or do you need everything laid out for you? You’ve said nothing useful...ever. Don’t pretend to assume what others have and have not done. Very immature.

What makes you think those guys hit harder than Ortiz?

I don't see how Roland LaStarza would have a prayer against Ortiz.

I’m actually a fan of both Wilder and Marciano, but the problem with Wilder is he needs space to get power from is right hand, which Marciano wouldn’t give him. Wilder’s always in excellent shape and has no quit in him, but his footwork would make it very easy for a guy like Marciano to get inside on him.

I seen Wilder struggle with both Medzhid Bektemirov and Ronald Gavril in sparring when he visited our gym, since he couldn’t land any clean rights on either. Wilder kept getting tagged by them, since Wilder stands square a lot and forces punches too much while leaving his chin and body unprotected.

Marciano would either go under Wilder’s jab or attack Wilder off a side parry, which Marciano was very good at to get inside and go to work on him.

If Wilder ever swallows his pride and works on his footwork, defense, and his ability to put combinations together on the inside I’d probably pick him over Marciano and Holmes or at least see these fights as 50/50, but I haven’t seen that Wilder yet.

LaStarza had a solid chin and good boxing skills with good endurance. He very well may see himself to a UD against Ortiz

That being said I think Ortiz beats him

Yeah, a technical sound, skilled 6'2/3 240 pound Southpaw with KO power in both hands would be nothing but a walk over for LaStarza according to the Marcianoistas.

Another big part of the game plan is that Marciano apparently spends the fight fighting out of a crouch, where no opponent with an 83" reach will possibly be able to punch him in the head. And even though Wilder, with his giant strides, can probably back up 6 feet in less than a second, he would be unable to avoid Marciano's rushes and create enough separation to throw any decent punches.

    Marciano for one

Bill Wilson and past prime Layne could be worth mentioning here

    1. Wilder has never done that effectively

    2. There's a limit to the size of the ring

You massively overgeneralized, according to your logic, Frazier shouldn't have even landed a glove against Ali, the fastest heavyweight of all time with much longer legs

This. I like Ortiz and think he had the potential to be a world champion 4-5 years ago, but time caught up with him. That said I think Moore would’ve outboxed Ortiz and Walcott would’ve knocked him out, since he’s way too much of a sucker for a well-timed right hand and like a lot of Cuban fighters his infighting leaves a lot to be desired.

Unless we both are Ringside live or in the Gym with Marciano we have to go by the good ol TV and marciano struggled immensely with old sub 200 pound fighters on film, he missed punches by a mile, tripped over his own feet, was painfully slow of hand and foot, was a major bleeder and was busted up like hell against Pensioners or Cannon Fodder......he ate a terrible amount of leather and wore his old opponents out, what a surprise, when their legs gave out.......some of those fights would be stopped today due to cuts.........he is supposed to be this defensive genius but his face clearly, and I mean clearly says otherwise.......had a Tyson, even a shot one, his nose cosmetically re arranged in a price fight ...I rest my case.

When Marciano was alive the contemporary boxing press called him what he was, a crude attrition fighter who fought old man and retired at the right time...........now modern revisionism has propelled him to mythical heights.

You can fault Wilder for many things but he has landed his money shots in every single fight and he will land the same on Marciano.........Wilder will KO Marciano flat out, he will walk right into a face first planter, bank on it.
