Wilder had no work rate against Fury, and was getting sent backwards by a fighter he'd dropped heavilly in a fight everyone thought he was losing. No fighter who hadn't gassed wouldn't have spent the remainder of that round going for the KO.

The Fury fight is the last thing I'd bring up to defend Wilder's engine.

Fury is about 6-3 on his toes. Wilder might be 6 -1 on his best day. Marciano was typically measured in stocking feet after a day of hard training which naturally compressed the spine. And at the time, they believed the shorter fighter carried greater spirit, greater pugnacity, so they downplayed height. There is astrong argument to be made that Marciano was taller than Wilder.

Ah yes. Ever since Wilder became and elite HW, it's turned from Super Heavy Weights into Super Tall Heights.

Who better than an elite swarmer with endless stamina and explosive power in both hands?

Oleksandr Gvozdyk’s height seemed pretty accurate while Usyk’s was way off. Viktor Postol’s height also seemed accurate as well, but for the most part most fighters tend to have inflated height listings, which Isn’t done by the fighters, but by their promoters, since It’s show business at the end of the day, so I completely understand a promoter making a 6’4” guy 6’6”.

    I’ll show two examples

Joe Joyce was always 6’4” before he came to prominence, but as a pro he’s listed as a 6’6” fighter.

“He is 108kg (17 stone) and 193cm (6foot4) tall. He is a world-class super-heavyweight boxer. He recently won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Yet what makes Joe Joyce from the United Kingdom so remarkable has nothing to do with his size or boxing ability.”

Efe Ajagba as an amateur was always listed as 6’3”, which I can agree with, since he wasn’t that much taller than I am. However, once he turned pro he’s suddenly 6’5”. His reach I’m not too sure about, since his arms did look very long.

Here is an Olympic listing with Efe’s height as 190cm or 6’3”.
    https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/athletes/detail/efe-ajagba/

In this amateur match the announcers say that Efe is 6’3”.

The rule of thumb when I was still involved with recruiting basketball players was to take the the player’s height in shoes and add 1 inch if he was over 6’5” or 2 inches if they were under 6’4”. A perfect example is Carmelo, who I measured at 6’6” barefoot, but with shoes on and adding an inch the NBA can technically market him as 6’8”.

    You reckon?
I think his technique is shocking.
No doubt about the power though.

How many times did he land it in an entire fight against Fury?

What has that got to do with anything tho Mark? Was Holmes a much better fighter than Ortiz? Does Holmes have better stamina? Is Holmes more durable? If Holmes got Wilder into trouble would he put notably more pressure on than Ortiz did in his attempts to finish him?

Holmes is a better fighter than Ortiz. Ortiz looks good but what are his three best wins would you say?

Larry was certainly a better finisher and no Ortiz hasn`t beaten anyone of note but I feel he would have beaten all Larry`s opponents except Tyson and maybe Spinks, Holy was awful v Larry. I think between Holmes and Ortiz it`s a case of inches and fractions.

Fury is harder to hit with right hands than Larry was and Shavers wouldn`t have layed a glove on him at all.

He landed more jabs on Fury than Shavers would.
