Could Leapai have used Tyson's style vs Klitschko?

Head movement, bobbing and weaving, defensive but constant aggression and moving forward?

Best jab in the game (older, semi-retired) Larry Holmes was defeated that way. So were a few other taller fighters.

    Thoughts?

Leapi has a bad jab...only went to Wlad body, didn't try to really rush him which he should of done from the start rather than try to jab to get in side...fact is leapi is to slow, he should just rush his oppenents and use his body mass to over whelm them, to put them of ballance similar to what Lucas Browne does ( bad example I know) but it works, this what a power puncher should do especially with poor boxing skills

The Cus D'Mato numbers style of offence and defence in the same movement is the hardest to learn in boxing - and thats why so few have even taken it on - requires years and years of constant repitition training until it is ingrained in your brain physical memory.Dont know if Alex is that way inclined physically or mentally , just a opinion.

Fack sake its been done to death , Leapia , could of used Tysons style , d'mato's style , Eddi Futch style , Mickey Mouse style , Whatever Facking style ,

You could off give him a facking baseball bat to jab with , the result would of been the same , except if he landed earlier , Klitch would of took him out earlier ,

Facts are he just was'nt on the same playing field , it was the difference between an Aussie domestic fighter , and a genuine world class fighter ,, MILES A FACKING PART

1 thing I'm proud of regardless of the loss is an Aussie/Somoan got a shot at the title...good to see a pom or yank not in there and struggler like leapi get a pay day

Lepia , was / is a very limited domestic level fighter with a good dig on him , a solid dig that got him a shot at the big boys club , Much was said about if he lands , even if he did it would'nt of mattered because i doubt he hits hard enough at top level to put away Klitscko .

But he soildered on , lived his dream and found the pot of gold , For that i'm really happy for him , nothing better than to see a hard working man with a big familly win the lottery .

Really who gives a fack if he threw enough , was agressive enough , or moved his head and feet enough , he was always gonna get beat and beat easily , .

Alex is a success story , not because he fought for the world title he was never going to win , but because he managed to get that elusive shot at the title and the payday that came with it .

He also for my money left the door open for another good money fight , to see who the bet Aussie is , with Brown , after Brown winning i personaly would love to see them have a go at each other for good money , bragging rights , and the winner with a shot at Fury , Brown and Alex here in OZ on ppv , and the winner in Britain on ppv against Fury could be two good money fights for Alex , for me it would be great to see ,

The money would always come in handy has well with 6 kids , good on him

Here. Here. He earned the shot and the pay day. But was just totally out of his league when it came to the fight. We all hoped for a miracle but it wasn't to be.

Hope he buys a house and takes the kids to Disneyland. He's earned it :good

Used to think that , dont know now . Vlad would be competitive in any era . Bloke is just that hard to hit regulary and he always comes in super fit.

Wlad's size and reach and the way he utilizes them make him a very difficult opponent.

It would have been very interesting to see how Wlad coped with a small guy with good head movement and power such as Tyson or Frazier. I think the better matchup would be someone like Foreman, who would barge his way inside and put Wlad's chin to the test very early in proceedings.

NO he couldnt, only a certain kind of athlete can achieve success using that style, you have to be super ****n gifted to pull the **** tyson used to do off, leapei aint no tyson & never will be. even tyson at prime would have struggled bigtime vs klitchko of today, klitchko doesnt just have a good jab, its powerfull fast & he is out of range once he throws it, hence he has GREAT footwork.

Only problem I have is with ur 3rd paragraph, the people that might care are the people who support him, and believed that he went to win.. Yes congrats on payday, but please don't disrespect other Aus heavyweights that would agree that people do give a fark about fighting for the world title.

In my opinion Brown doesn't need him right now, more money on offer fighting overseas in Europe.

Leapai is a C-level fighter, so no.... He was lucky to become Wlads mandatory and get a 1.5 million dollar payday....

Excellent question. Somewhere long the line the Commonwealth title lost it's high ranking in the belt pecking order and has since been far less in demand.
