In a slugfest ? No, but in a normal boxing match he beats Foreman.

Prime Foreman ? No Lewis doesn't survive. Especially in a small ring. Lewis wasn't swift of feet anyway, and also fought in straight lines in a typical European style. If he fought physically as Foreman did ( He certainly had the size, I don't think he had that brute strength) with his pushing, pulling, mauling tactics, knocking his opponents off balance than nail them as they try to reset. He could win, but he never demonstrated those type of tactics in his career.
I will say though with a strong referee , someone who would penalize Foreman for some of his rough tactics his chances would increase dramatically. Frazier also would've had a better showing with a No nonsense ref.

Lewis’ chin is unpredictable. He took some huge shots from men like Vitali Klitschko, Ray Mercer, Frank Bruno and Gary Mason but got sparked by McCall and Rahman. So frankly I don’t know how he’d do in a slug fest with foreman. Does he have enough power to hurt George back? Absolutely.

The two times he was Ko'ed he wasn't looking and left his chin hanging out. Obviously his own fault, when he boxed smart he took hard punches pretty well.

Agreed. He seemed to take shots better when he was alert and aware those punches were coming.

Didn't Foreman go life and death with Ron Lyle who is inferior to Lewis in almost every way ? I'd favor Foreman in a brawl but lets not act like Lewis can't hurt foreman.

It isn't about what Foreman can take. It is about what Lewis proved he couldn't take. That being said, I don't think this is a 100% guaranteed blowout for George. But, for Lewis to win, it would have to be based on strategy and skill, not a shootout.

Lewis took blows from Tua, Klitschko, Bruno etc who all hit harder than the guys that KO'd him. When he brought his a game and didn't leave his chin hanging out his punch resistance was decent. Lewis definitely fights on the inside and at mid range better than Lyle and would have the size advantage over Foreman.

I wouldn't write him off, but based of feats I'd obviously favor Foreman to win a shootout

I love both fighters. I don't think Lewis had a terrible chin but I think he was less durable than Foreman but then again, I think Lewis was the more versatile/ better overall fighters. If the question is who wins head to head I say Lewis. I don't think for second that Lewis gets into a slugfest unless it benefits him strategically.
