Probably not, hi leg was stiff which means he was in bad shape, but did recover rather quickly...............

Didn't look like it, and if I had been the ref I wouldn't have thought twice to letting it continue.
But, some fighters seem to have magical recovery skills, like N'Dam and JMM. Completely gone for a couple of seconds, and then good to go in the next, so you never know for sure.

He was in the Zab Judah, Cornelius Bundrage, Trevor Berbick,
Nate Campbell level of knockdown-edness. He was completely finished.
60 seconds in the corner is not enough to recover from that

He tried to grab something that wasn't there to prop himself up.
    FATALITY.........

Don't forget Steve Cunningham, one of the only fighters that I can think of with a somewhat shaky chin but who is nearly impossible to stop. He's a magician in there for sure.

Can you get up from a knockdown and just take a knee right away to avoid punishment?

He was still wobbly in his corner. There was no mercy waiting for his ass if the fight were allowed to continue. He was done and ten more seconds in that ring with Charlo could have made him well done.

Always better safe than sorry and he was in bad shape even if he did get up.

Nah he was finished by that punch. Allowing that fight to carry on would've been dangerous and a risk to Lubin's health.
