Could Luis Ortiz clean out the heavyweight division if given the chance?

    ?.....I remember being impressed with his movement for a big man. He was moving and jabbing last time I saw him, maybe the Jennings fight it was? I've seen a lot worse in recent years put it that way

    If he could clean out the divison he would have done it by now, he is 37!

    You are right. Ortiz moves better than the majority of current top Heavyweights. For being his size and kind of fat he's very fleet of foot. His ring IQ and boxing ability are a grade above the new crop as well.

    He could beat anyone but is too old to clean out the division. Besides, it's only because the division is exceedingly weak at the moment that he appears a major force. The top guys are:

    a banned coke addict with mental problems (Fury)
    a 40 yr old who looked shot in his last fight (Klistchko)
    a 17 fight novice who has never fought a world-level opponent (Joshua)
    an ex-basketball player with manifestly poor technique and no A level wins (Wilder)
    a guy who may have lost to a CW in Huck (Povetkin)

    Now of course some of the above, especially Joshua and Wilder, may improve and become The Man, but that's the state of affairs right now.
