Could Maidana do to Floyd what Mayorga did to Forrest?!

floyd should be able to stop marcos. i hope marcos fights dirty though. head butts and elbows and one to the ref if he gets in the way. i want to be entertained and maidana just need to go balls to the walls and throw caution to the wind.

i think Floyd will probaly have to use a lot of high gaurd..simply because Maidana is very good with the looping right hand....he may land a few early or grazing ones.

Floyd will do some body work to slow all that aggression and of course those sharp laser right hand pot shots

One punch i really think he will work to frustrate Maidana is the jab to the stomach....it really really throws off an aggressor.

If that's what you took from watching Mayweather-Ortiz then you need to take yourself into a dark corner and give yourself a good talking to.

Impossible, Mayorga was a strange character who gave us some thrills specially that with Vernon R.I.P. and against Tito at 160. Happens that Mayo shocked Vernon with that clubbing hammershot right hand against the ropes and Chino who has much better attacking qualities will have no space to execute cause Floyd rolls and ducks all those punches, something Vernon didn't know how to. Besides, the similarity is that both Mayo and Chino can't fight on the back foot.

Only way Maidana wins is by numerous Kd's or a KO, so i guess it would be similar type of win. the start to thsi fight is msot important, Maidana has a chance early to jump on Floyd and put on an assault (getting him on the ropes would be his best bet, or a overhand right over the roll) but whether he can successfully do that remains to be seen.

    No.

Maidana is not as good as mayorga was that night

    and

Mayweather has better defense than forrest, who not to mention was choosing to war with mayorga

    Quoted for truth.

Maidana deserves his shot, but he's going to be outclassed in every way in that ring. The brink of embarrassment.

I was pretty much going to say this.

I think Vernon was a very good boxer in his prime, but he never possessed the elite type of defense that mayweather has.

And Forrest looked more than content to try and go punch for punch with Mayorga, which obviously didn't work out for him.

FLoyd will pick and choose his moments on when to go flat-footed and sit in the pocket against Marcos. But I don't expect him to just stand toe-to-toe for long periods of time the way that Broner did with Marcos, that's just silly and unnecessary.

He'll pick him apart from the outside, see pretty much every looping shot coming from a mile away, and than he'll pick certain moments in the fight to throw combinations.

It has the chance to be Floyd-Gatti 2. That's how unimpressed I am with Maidana.

there's a reason why floyd is 11-1 favorite.

    maidana just isn't a threat.
