JasonChaos27 I do not have an agenda and could have just as easily said slick boxer. In fact I did say slick boxer,in subsequent post. But to get your panties in a bunch when I say African-American but to not blink when I say Mexican tells me African-Americans must be moving backwards in acceptance in America.Everybody gets touchy when I say African-American.You would have wanted to kill Muhammad Ali when he was fighting.I bet you love the silent version though. If you say the dirty word African-American you have an agenda now. It's hate speech all of a sudden. My people have a long way to go when apprehension is the first reaction when my people are mentioned. You can say Phillipino fighter or Mexican fighter but don't say African-American fighter,oh no you better not go there. The 50's,60's,70's,80's and 90's were dominated by African-Americans,but in 2010 don't say that dirty word or you must be racist or have an agenda. This is non-sense.I'm African-American and sometimes I "listen" to Rush Limbaugh for laughs.I don't even think he's racist, just full of resentment enetertaining other people with resentment, but still not racist to me,though he oftens gets a little too racy for my liking. So you know what,I won't apologize or back down from my legitimate question.Could Manny Pacquiao retire without facing even a single African-American?Would that technically be a slightly incomplete resume?I don't care if he never fights Floyd, there is Mosley,Judah or Alexander and I would like to see if he can handle those stlyles.Oh,and why is it ok to call Pac the Mexicutioner but not ok to ask about him fighting an African-American?:huhIt's not fair.:|

i can't believe race is still an issue even though we have a black president in office.

wish people would stop living in the past.

Dude please. Why do people think the opposite of being "racist" is to not discuss it?

If an NBA or NFL team trotted out onto the field with only ONE race on the team everyone in their right mind would be scratching their heads. If you are running a team on the up and up it WON'T happen!!!!

Manny is now at WW and hasn't faced one (American) Black guy. That is strange.

He's had three fights at WW. Why is it strange that none of those fighters were an 'American black guy'?

I mean Mosley's been fighting around the weight for ages and he managed to go six years between fighting 'American black' guys...

Cotto - five straight fights without fighting an American black guy. And another coming!

Mayweather - four years between fighting American black guys.

Pacquiao's got some way to go to catch up with these guys...

Mexico is a country - not a race.

Second, incomplete of what? What IS the complete thing you are implying?

Again, the argument would only make sense if there was an actual fighter that you can name that Pac should have fought. It is like arguing that a truly great HW would not be great unless they fought a great Mexican warrior with a big heart.

Right now, people spouting this is really talking in theory since there is no true elite fighter during Pac's career except Nate Campbell that fits that description. And WHEN should have he fought Nate Campbell - instead of JMM II? That would have been a bigger asterisk in his resume. Maybe instead of Diaz? And that assumes Campbell fight made resume and financial sense.

Not like there was an army of elite African-African slick boxers waiting for their chance with Pac.

At WW manny has faced cotto, dlh and clottey (hes pretty damn black, lol)! Clottey and cotto are part of top rank so the bob father pitted them against manny for the in-house cash!! Dlh was a cash cow, of course manny wanted to fight him for millions of dollars!! To be honest besides mayweather there is no other black american for manny to fight thats worth his while ($$$) :hi:

And how many divisions has Pac gone through to get to WW? No American Black guys there either? This isn't the first time this issue was brought up.

What period does you SSM analysis cover? The "post-Winky" period 2005-2010? He was:

    -- Not at WW
-- Had fought (and lost) to the best AB boxers at both 147 and 154 previously
-- Career was on the rocks and not fighting "competive", but rather "names" (until Collazo 2007 competitive win, Cotto competitive loss, Margarito brought in to lose)

Look man I am not saying he (or anyone else) "needs" to fight an AB guy or anyone based on a BS race qualification. If you are at a weight and there are none? Fine. None in your geographic area? There are none highly ranked in your division? Fine. However that hasn't been the case with Pac.

It is damned strange that a guy hasn't fought an American Black guy. Pac avoids guys who box in favor of hispanic brawlers. Has been doing it his whole career. It is more of a style issue than a race one.

Dude please. Now all of Pac's fights are on "the elite" level? Please. There were more than enough GOOD fighters for him to fight. Title holders and decent names. He fought none of them.

It's funny how people say it doesn't have to do with race, moreso the style - slick, quick, etc., and proceed to mention guys like Berto or Bradley as guys Pacquiao should face in these kinds of threads, but guys like Marquez, Barrera, Sasakul, and Ledwaba were more skilled technicians than them. And three of those four fighters were stopped. Watching Marquez fights well prior to Diaz and Casa as well as Barrera fights > of 122, these guys aren't just "Mexican brawlers." They were elite technicians with elite skills. Chatchai and Lehlohonolo were quite good as well.

Berto would be an easier assignment than Clottey with his shitty defense and leaving himself open because he'd throw more.

...the only fight Pacquiao should take right now is Mayweather. It would be disgraceful if he didn't and opted to fight Margo. I'd be all over that and my opinion of him would take a big hit.
