You are arguing now that 'African Americans' come from a different ethnic group than 'Africans'? :huh

Now you are being silly. There are barely/rarely any American Black guys at or below LW. I have acknowledged on multiple threads that there is NO case against Pac below LW, a weak one at LW. 135+ he has not faced any... It is strange.

Even at times they where there the fights weren't made. Before the excuse was weight. Now? :huh

    Yes.

It is a combination of cultural and physical angles that manifests themselves in the fighting style.

African fighter - supreme conditioning, great chin, volume puncher, high work rate, offensive oriented

African American fighter - often counter puncher or relying on explosive speed, heavily relying on athletic ability/flash/traps

Nobody is saying one style is better or worse. It is just that different styles give you different looks. You guys keep turning it into a "hate" issue.

Nobody takes it as a diss when a guy is a "Mexican" fighter. You know what most picture. Relentless, great chin, unimaginable heart and determination. A Mexican guy born and raised in Chicago, may not have the cultural (machismo) or gym influences to make him fit that style.

Um, what? I was replying to your post in this thread.

He'd only fought one fight above 130 before he got to WW, so if you weren't talking about the divisions below LW I have no idea what you were talking about.

That's nothing to do with ethnicity.

You should do yourself a favour and stop trying to back up other people's points.

I disagree with you, but your posts are coherent. LeadRightHand is talking utter bollocks however, I don't know why you are bothering to try to rescue his arguments.

I didn't say it was completely or even usually tied to ethnicity. I consider Joe Calzaghe not your "typical" British fighter. It is more likely tied to cultural influences coupled with natural traits/tendencies.

I am not blindly backing up his point. Some of the things he said were silly. However in some respects, I feel the same way. I remember chatter about this when he was hovering around 130ish. Nate Campbell said it and was skewered. Time has passed and... Go figure.

So I am just exchanging with you with no connection to LRH.

Well I think we had a disconnect. I don't really fault him for below 135, but the chatter started as he hovered close to 130.

Right. He jumped in. Blasted out Diaz. Jumped up.

Like I said earlier, I started hearing the chatter at 130ish. I shrugged it off as Nate being a crazy loud mouth from the very racist south (Which he is!). That is something he would say. However it started to dawn on me that looking back and forward from 130 it was just strange.

If you guys make the, "Well boxing is a business" argument, I can accept that. However it seems a bit at odds with the "took on all the tough fights" argument.

WHy do people get so butt hurt when someone brings up race in a non-bigotory manner? The question is valid since Pac made his quest to move up and conquer the bigger divisions. At 135, Nate Campbell of the man with 3 titles he won of Juan, Casamayor was the lineal champ, Pac could have fought a Afro-Cuban or a black American, he fights the worst belt holder in the division in David Diaz, the high tails it out of there.

At 140, he could have fought Holt, WBO champ coming off KO of Torres, or WBC champ Timothy Bradley coming in after outclassing Witter, but no he faces Hatton, a fighter PBF already KO'd and who was KO'd by Juan Lazcano, but for the terrible Brits refs involved in the the fight.

He beats Hatton, goes up to 147, a division packed with AA talent, fights Cotto, the same guy who many felt was beaten by Clottey at a catchweight, fine oh well, PBF doesn't come off, instead of fighting Berto, Mosley, or Williams, he fights Clottey then complain when PBF and MOsley fight and get better PPV numbers, like he was obligated to fight Clottey instead of the other contenders out there.

Now if the Floyd fight drops thorugh again, he is in talks to fight Margarito, the same guy Shane KO'd and Williams UD instead of those guys.
