Nope.I remember he was better at pacing himself, more relaxed and methodical and that this meant he didn't run out of gas.
Where are the posts that state he was better when he was in his 40's, simply because he was 20lbs heavier?

Difference being prime weight? Or do you think Louis was prime at 37 and 213lbs?

Lewis and Tyson stop Marciano ,imo.Tua has the capability to do so, ie power, and chin, but I'm nowhere near so sure he will do it

I don’t think “prime weight” was ever the issue here. It’s weight itself as the “be all- end all” factor. That is the issue.

Holmes by decision or late rounds tko, probably on cuts.

It was very unclassy of Larry, though, to make those needless comments about Rocky.

Larry was often a jackass, but he was a great HW champ.

Nope.If that were the case, Joe Joyce would have lost the other night.

Holmes had just lost a decision he sincerely believed he had earned, and Rocky's Brother was heckling him, trying to turn the occasion into the Rocky Marciano Show,if anyone showed a lack of class it was him not Larry.
BTW Technically,"if you want to get technical about it,"Holmes was right!

Find one quote from this board where anyone seriously contends this.

And by the way, Foreman did quite a few things better in his dotage, all which had little to do with his extra weight.

    No excuse.

He could have just laughed off the bro. Larry has to be held to a higher standard than a family member. The media rightly pounced on Larry's miscue.

Larry was thin skinned and had a huge chip on his shoulder.

Holmes was very selectively choosing his opposition to try and beat Marciano's record. So, I have no sympathy for him.

It was a cherry pick gone wrong fighting Michael Spinks.

Here's the press conference where Larry put his foot in his mouth.

imo. All men's behaviour should be judged equally, boxing champions, champions brothers, and civilians of no particular fame.
Nope.Holmes was," an old man fighting young men.
    Holmes 36, Spinks30
An undefeated reigning 30 years old 6' 2" light heavyweight champion . Where is the cherry pick ?
"Marciano was a young man fighting old men."
Marciano 32.Moore 39/41 depending if you believe him or his Mother.
If Holmes was cherry picking what was Marciano doing?

I firmly believe that some on this board have never forgiven Larry for that comment.

Now we have it. Wilder had the size of Michael Spinks in 1988. Not that I make a big deal about this....

He apologised for it and said," I tore down one of the greatest champs and I'm sorry for it".What more could he do?
