It's stupid to answer a simple yes or no (which is no surprise here...). Obviously not all MW's hit the same. But I think the MW's are just too big naturally for him.

 

I don't think he can take Kelly's punch

The funny thing is that these guys talk about Tony weighing 154-160 at fight time for a welter fight but none of them seem to give a **** when a jr.middle shows up at 170lbs or a middle shows up at 175lbs.

If Tony is a 160lb natural then Pavlik is easily a 175-180lb natural.

 

The way he takes that first punch is incredible. A power shot to the point of the temple should at least be a KD and in many cases a KO.

He takes the second one well too, needs to run on a bit further to really tell though, still it's a JR middleweight throwing a big punch right on the button and he still doesn't drop.

margo has a good chin at WW. but cintron did shake him a bit in the first fight and margo was rocked by santos. i'll say it like this the futher up in weight he goes the less punch resistance he will have .

 

I never thought Margo was really hurt by Santos, who DID weigh in at 170 come fight time.

 

Santos is not a particularly big puncher though.
