Duran had power but couldn't bring it all up to 154 against Hearns who was the harder hitter in th fight.

I was on 4 at the time so I don't know all the back stories, but could PAC end up like Duran?

And if Duran who was clearly a harder puncher than PAC, Couldn't bring all of his power up to 154 would that have you questioning PAC if he was to knockout the hard chin Margo inside three like Freddie predicted?

    No.

Duran was drifting in his life at that time and lacked motivation to train properly, whereas Pac just seems to have unstoppable momentum and joy in his fighting right now.

Additionally, Hearns was a very fast and crisp puncher, but Margo is a slow plodder.

You mean a poor man's Duran and an exceptionally poor man's Hearns? ...No. And Duran's power had nothing to do with that fight.

No -- Duran lost to speed, power, and balls like Godzilla. Tony only has the balls. If he wins, it will be because Pac couldn't hurt him and he ground out a late TKO.

If you watch all of Hearns fights you'll notice one pattern: he wastes no time trying to destroy you. He jumped all over Duran and the poor guy didn't even have time to adjust before the final blow came. Had Duran gotten through Hearns initial attack and dragged the fight into the later rounds I believe he would have had a shot at beating Hearns. Hearns lost twice to Iran Barkley, whom Duran beat 6 years later to win a middleweight title.

If Duran-Hearns happened during modern times, forums like this will be full of topics like "Duran Exposed" or "Duran has no Chin"

    haha

Margarito has nowhere near the explosiveness of a Tommy Hearns, So NO.
    (Then again who does?)

Of course they wouldn't. As most real boxing fans have brains.

Duran was OLD in the first Leonard fight. He was 30, and had 72 pro fights. He was on the slide then.

By the time he was facing Hearns and Hagler, he was at maybe 60% and he still pushed the latter all the way

Much of Duran's top 10 all time reputation is based on how he just competed with truly great fighters, when he was OLD and undersized.

He gave away huge advantages to Leonard, Hearns and Hagler

    No, for a few reasons.

Margarito wouldn't have even won 3 rounds with even that version of Duran. Duran lost to Hearns as he was severaly undersized, pretty old, and was facing one of the top 20 fighters of all time, at his peak. Who was also probably the biggest puncher of his era.

Margarito was average at his peak. He was plain poor at 154 in his peak. Sorting a nice catchweight, against a shot fighter, who wasn't even that good at his peak, is just what it is.

Manny better destroy him like Mosely did, or his rep will take a hit

And I agree with you. I'm more making fun of modern day boxing fans who think its all about being undefeated. And if a boxer gets Ko'd or beat its allways exposed, or Chinny. or whatever.

Duran has full-time excuse makers on hand at all times.

Pac is just fighting dead opponents...it's easy to look like a beast fighting roadkill.

Pac has always gotten hit a lot. The problem is that he hits his opponents much more.
