I'd give McCallum a real chance in this one. Hagler was not at his best by the time he fought Mugabi and McCallum, in my opinion, is one of the most underated fighters of the last 20 years. He had all the skills required to beat Hagler, he was slick, strong, powerful good defense I think he would have beaten Hagler SD at this stage of Halger's career.
Hagler for mine. Leonard's sheer speed made Hagler look a lot slower than he actually was at the time. McCallum also would have been entering 160 for the first time. I think Hagler's still excellent jab would have made the pace of the fight and taken him to a competitive UD.
not so. i can testify that the Weaver triplets made hagler look even slower so why take the word of someone like John Thomas anyone having doubts can check out the book Sorcery at Ceasar's
Don looked like he was holding his own. i dont know about damned good tho. ithink the beating he took from Lloyd ruined him to some extent but he may have already passed his peak judging by some performances earlier that year side note: i dont think Don even at his best could stave off a man as strong and determined as Lloyd was that night. just too awesome
You asked me for proof I attended and I gave it and you just couldnt accept it. Have you read the book yet John? Maybe you'd like to discredit the same reports there as well. Just refer to the page covering the sparring vs Weaver tripletts then get back to me. Knowing you, you won't. I know how you hate to eat your words
