That would be the triumph of optimism over experience!

We already had George Godfrey in this era and although he was monstrous, he didn't accomplish that much. McCall and Mercer weren't better fighters than him.

Everything about Moorer's record, and Baer's, suggests that Baer would probably smash Moorer!

Why is that? Please name me one Baer win that's better than a prime Holyfield?

He didn't have one, if we overlook Holyfield's heart problems during the fight.

So what is Moorer's second best win?

I would probably say Axel Shulz who really should have got the decision against Foreman and been the lieal champ. Botha, Jirov, Cooper were all good fighters as well.

What @AwardedSteak863 said. Prime Holyfield, even with heart problems, is still a better win than any Baer has.

Not true! Schulz was a bronze medalist at the amauter world's before turning pro and boxed Big George's ears off. He could fight! So could Botha who also had a pretty decent career and was a pretty skilled guy if you know what you are watching. Jirov was a Olympic Gold medalist aside from being a world champion at Cruiserweight that gave James Toney a whole lot of hell and nearly killed Joe Mesi who was another decorated fighter. Calling any of these men Journeymen is just flat out dumb.
