That sonny would have to get spinks out the way early .This wouldn't be easy Spinks was a excellent boxer with an good defense and a stinging attack and was similar in size to liston .if the fight go's past the half way point I.see an aging liston getting busted up and maybe quitting on his stool.

I'd say Liston if he goes right at Spinks should get him out of there early. I don't think Spinks has the firepower to keep Liston off of him.

spinks was one hell of a fighter and has the tools to beat liston by u.d. But he would be more intimidated by liston than he was tyson, liston by k.o. round 2

Spinks would have a better chance against Liston than most think due to his style and Liston's inability to cut off the ring. He had the punch to KO Spinks, but he didn't have the hand or foot speed of a Young Tyson.

Ironically both fighters have St. Louis backgrounds. I think it was in St. Louis where Liston thru that cop headfirst into a trash can.

"Liston was arrested and investigated by law enforcement numerous times, and, save for a few mob-connected money-laundering allegations, the arrests were all of the fists-on-flesh variety. In a famous incident, five cops jumped Liston, beating him about the head and neck until they “broke [their] hickory nightsticks”—and they still couldn’t get cuffs on him. In a more cartoonish infraction, Liston deposited a cop headfirst into a trash can. And there was the time Liston took away the gun of an arresting officer—Liston broke the guy’s knee, then strode from the scene wearing the copper’s hat."

The result would be similar to what happened to Floyd Patterson against Liston.

I can't picture Sonny Liston doing any of this. He had too much respect for Law Enforcement. Most likely a case of mistaken identity.

I'd say Spinks at heavy likely hit at least as hard as a 64 Ali and was the same size more or less

That's true but Ali was so much more mobile than Spinks was, and his punch resistance was better.

    Spinks has zero chance.
