COULD Miguel Cotto Beat Paul Williams IF they were to ever fight??

Paul Williams is a stylistic nightmare for Cotto. I really don't see anyway Cotto could beat him to be honest. He can't outwork Williams and he can't stand up to his attack. Cotto will get busted up trying to get on the inside of Williams' long reach and stopped.

 

Williams has a great chin and can take hellish bodyshots as well. Margarito hit him with wild shots that would have dropped most welterweights yet he sucked it up and took the last round. I know Cotto won't be able to keep up against Williams.

They are a couple of fighters that can beat Paul, Cotto is not one of them, but they are leser fighter than Cotto that can beat Paul, a fighter with good lateral movement and that can trow accurate punches and not be so incative can beat Paul. Paul is a good fighter but is one style only, a few of you guys have years following the sport and can't learn about the figter style. Williams is a great fighter but a good fighter not have to be great can beat him. Pavlik have a good change on beating Paul. I don't see a Abraham beating Williams at least on points.

 

Paul is posesses a unique array of advantages that would surely pose a huge challenge for Cotto. Strangely enough I can't see Cotto folding up against anyone despite his disadvantages. Cotto would make the fight tough, he's experienced, skilled, hard nosed and versitile. If Cotto can find a way inside of Pauls cyclone he can make it an intresting fight. Logically speaking I would go with PWill but Cotto is intellegent and supremely skilled for a suppossed pressure/brawler I'm surprised by the fact that people still doubt his boxing ability, Cotto is quite techinal.

 

Unfortunately that's the reality of this particular scenario. Though I find it hard to picture anyone within Cotto's weight class just simply steam rolling him. I know Margo seemingly accomplished the feat but he was getting schooled for the majority of the bout. Cotto eventually gased and was systematically taken apart. I truly believe Cotto could have won if he utilized the right game plan.....which he obivously did'nt.

 

Paul is hell of a fighter and i really like cotto but that would be a really tough fight for cotto

 

i think williams punch output and work rate would be a little too much for cotto.

 

Come on, be fair to Jennings. He is at least the 4th or 5th best Welterweight.
