Its not like Tyson would need to do this today but the option might be there.

I think the last time Tyson sniffed the 190's, he was 14.

Plus, he could not have touched Maagna Haaavnaa.

People don't realize how much weight people can shed here. Look at Welterweights that weigh 15 or even more pounds the day of the fight than the weigh in, and the bigger people are the more they can sweat off. Wrestlers drop 15 pounds or more just in water weight sometimes as well.

Tyson could of definently made the Crusier limit by sweating and not even changing his diet

In his prime, Tyson was no untrained slob. He was in great shape and displayed fantastic stamina up through the Ruddock fights. He was just naturally that size. Were he able to go on some Auchwitz diet and gotten to 200, he probably would have become frail and weak and been KO'd. It was not his natural weight and the consequences of screwing with that would have been severe.

Tyson would not have to diet to make 200. He could simply put on a sweatsuit, use saunas, and work out hard to drop 15 pounds of sweat the day of the weigh in, then rehydrate the next 24 hours so he doesn't show up dehydrated and weak.

Fighters at the lighter weights drop this amount of water weight constantly today, and it's easier for big guys because they sweat more.

He wouldnt have to have gone on some Auschwitz diet.

Potentialy he could have made the weight just by shedding water and then have been back in the ring at 215 lbs.

This kind of water loss does fatigue many fighters and puts them in a lot of danger ala Johnny Owen. It's not a simple math to say a fighter can shed and regain that amount of weight through water loss and still be effective. Many Kronk fighters seemed to make career out of it, though.

Current limit is 200 not 190

Tyson could be 50 percent of what he was at HW and still kill pretty much every Crusier ever.

Many wrestlers lose more weight than Tyson by shedding water. And they don't have 24 hours to regain the water they lost, boxers do.

I doubt it ... Tyson was simply a thick guy ever since team Damato found him .... Atlas writes that Tyson weighted close to 200 at 13 years of age ...

If I was guessing I would agree with this. You never know till you know, but Tyson has a short frame with short limbs and was always ripped. I don't think there was 15lbs on him for shedding healthily, no.

Obviously it is doable - he'd probably be able to get himself down to 150 just before dying - but it would hurt him.

Have you guys ever been in a sport where you need to lose weight fast? Anyone above 200 pounds can drop 15 pounds of water weight with hard work the day before and day of the weigh in. At the lighter weights, people DO drop this amount of weight in order to make the weight limit.

    Tyson at Cruiser?

Assuming he had the weight to spare without compromising his ability?

I'd imagine his run at Cruiser would fulfill any boxing fan's fistic perversions. De Leon, Ocasio, Qawi- they'd all be slaughtered.

The thing is, if he would have been able to stay in that division for a couple of years (during which time he would completely have cleaned it out, in brutal fashion) and then moved up to HW and made his mark there, he would have been very highly regarded in a p4p sense today.

His p4p rating would be very high. Imagine cleaning out two divisions?

Its one thing when you have 2,3,4 division champs who collect belts but when you have a fighter who cleans out the division before moving up for the next challenge- whew.....
