Could Mohammad Ali (in his prime) compete with the boxers of today?

No, it doesn't. That was an honest question since I don't know the first thing about basketball. It wasn't rhetorical.

Maybe this is why there have been relatively few American top HWs in the last 20 years. Outside of the US there's not really a top sport that competes for talent of this size.

Sanders and Ike never ever had the standing in their era that Wilder has now. Why do you think Wilder vs Joshua is worth such crazy frigging money?

Wilder frightens the absolute hell out of you because of his weight, or should i say lack of it comparative to the fighters you go silly over. You are in denial about him.

So what? McCall and Rahman were not considered serious threats and didn't have much standing and they beat Lewis anyway. Buster Douglas was also not considered a serious threat to Tyson and he knocked him out anyway.

Also, denying either man is a serious threat to Lewis just seems silly. Lewis actually lost in real life to McCall and Rahman and struggled with Ray Mercer. Someone as quick and powerful as Sanders realistically would pose a considerable threat of bombing out Lewis in the early rounds. Ike's overall durability and impressive workrate also seems like something Lewis could easily struggle with. Given who Lewis actually lost to I find it difficult to seriously entertain the idea that these guys don't pose a considerable level of risk.

How is ike a serious threat when his best wins are koing a blown up light heavy, light punching chris byrd and winning a super close decision over flat footed, 1 dimensional tua who lost almost every time he stepped up and was schooled by lewis?

Other than a punchers chance, sanders simply isnt on lewis' level either. Why do wladmir fans hate admitting he had chin issues? And i have wladmir in my top 5 for hw resumes, it is what it is.

I'm still can't see how anyone can reasonably argue Sanders and Ibeabuchi are not a threat to someone who actually lost in real life to McCall and Rahman? Have you watched any of their fights? Ike destroyed a prime Byrd in a way that Vitali, Wladimir, Tua all failed to match and outslugged a prime Tua.

The argument about Sanders lack of accomplishments doesn't fly either. Who did Oliver McCall beat aside from Lewis? He's basically a one hit wonder.

Frankly I'm not even sure Wilder is the best small heavyweight of recent years. I would pick Alexander Povetkin to beat him and its too bad they never had the chance to fight. It's true he lost to Joshua but he was past his prime by that point.

Usyk might also have success at heavyweight but that remains to be seen.

Rahman obviously not by the Klitschkos though, they took him sriously enough to avoid him until he was shot to shyt.

but so what? or does "so what" not work when its the K bros.

Rahman lost soon after Klitschko defeated Byrd and quickly faded from contention. I guess you could argue they avoided him earlier but most of the time the Klitschko's were regarded as the best in the world Rahman wasn't a factor any longer at top level.

so true my last post was a big up of Callum Smith, a real african black man.

Previous to which I had a mild dig at 3G, an Asian.

You really got nothing better to do today?
