I think this makes sense and just might . In fact I wouldn't be too surprised if Arum is trying to get Valero his visa in order to get him vs Peterson on the undercard of Pac vs Clottey.

If Valero beats Peterson, you've got Pac fighting a proven (Peterson is no chump) undefeated 28-0 KO artist in a great war.

If Peterson beats Valero, it takes a little shine off the fight but Pac would be fighting a tall, long, fast boxer that could help him get a little more ready for a fight against Floyd.

Either way its in house fighting so you know Arum wouldn't mind.

So you want Pac to avoid his biggest challenge at 147 in order to go down in weight and avoid his biggest challenge at 140 lbs.? This fight would be a joke, especially if Peterson won.

I don't want it, I think it might happen.

I'd rather Pac fight Bradley or Mosley/floyd than either of those 2. But I think I see Arum setting something up here.

Pac asked to keep his ring title at 140, Valero moving up to 140 even though he looks to me like he could make 135 easily. Peterson scheduled to fight on March 12th vs TBA. The Pac fight being in Texas with Valero licensed only in Texas...

Also, I don't think the Floyd fight will happen unless Floyd buckles at the negotiation table. In the meantime if Pac loses his election, he's gotta fight someone.

Didn't they already strip MP of his 140 title? Just asking because I heard that they did.

Manny Pacquiao however, has elected to keep the Ring 140 lb title he obtained by knocking out Ricky Hatton last May. Pacquiao's camp wants to keep the belt for now, and make a final decison after the Joshua Clottey fight when Manny will defend his WBO 147 lb title in Cowboys Stadium. "THE RING granted that request, but informed Pacquiao that if his next fight after Clottey is not a defense of the junior welterweight title, THE RING will consider it tantamount to relinquishing the title", says Nigel Collins, Editor-in-Chief of THE RING magazine. Team Pacquaio agreed to those terms.

I hope Floyd and Manny simply fight later in the year. December, maybe.

it would be much better it the fight at 140 was between bradley and valero. you can't go wrong in fighting the winner of that one. of course the biggest fight out there is against mayweather, even if he loses against mosley.

but a fight at 140 against the winner of valero-bradley would be good too. after clottey, the only accpetable fights for pac IMO are against mosley or mayweather at 147 or bradley or valero at 140. everything else, including jmm at 140, is a step down.

If Pac's gonna be defending his lineal belt for 140, I'd rather he fight Bradley who more than deserves a shot at him. He's the man at 140 right now and is on the verge of cracking 10 P4P rankings.

I wasn't suggesting Pac fighting either guy was a "who cares" fight.
