Could Pacquiao have cherry picked anyone harder than Antonio Margarito?

Here are a list of reasons why Margarito was probably the easiest possible fight out there for Manny Pacquiao with him having no chance of losing. This was the ultimate act of cherry picking for the following reasons.

    1. Less than 2 fights ago, Margarito was annihilated by Shane Mosley in a one siding beating so bad many thought his career was over.

    2. He caught with hand wraps

    3. His license was suspended for over a year and hence he had a lay-off from boxing for around 1 year and a half.

    4. His trainer was banned from boxing and so had an unfamiliar trainer

    5. "I think he looked rusty after 15 months, and he needed to fight," said Arum. "He needed the fight under his belt after the long absence." Did not look good in his comeback fight

    6 Was forced to fight a catch-weight.

All these reasons make it clear that Margarito was the ultimate cherry pick. What makes it the ultimate is the subterfuge he used convince people this was somehow a good fight. This isn't a normal cherry pick when a fighter is obviously on another level than his opponent such as Mayweather Gatti or Baldomir or Pac Diaz. This is team Pac using manipulation to somehow present Margarito as formidable opponent despite all the things Margarito had going against him.

Margarito was once very good fighter and still might have been real good fighter despite the loss, except all of those personal circumstances affecting Margarito, that only people with knowledge would know about. Margarito had no chance no matter what weight, so to actually make him fight at a catch weight is the worst part of all.

The bottom line is that on paper the win looks good. However what the paper doesn't show is context, and with the proper context the win proves to be the ultimate cherry pick.

It is easy to check on who is the harder opponent. Tell us who will win in these match-ups:

    1. JMM (147lbs) vs Margarito (150lbs)

    2. Berto (147lbs) vs Margarito (150lbs)

    3. Bradley (147lbs) vs Margarito (150lbs)

    4. Mosley (147lbs) vs Margarito (150lbs)

These are the possible opponents of Pac with their corresponding official weights. If these possible opponents of Pac fought Margarito (the Margarito who fought Pac meaning weighing 165lbs on fight night), who will win in the match-up?

Let's face it. Some dumb****s are going to call cherry-picking on almost everyone Pacquiao fights because he's put himself in the position of being heavily favored by performing so well. Therefore, it's as if people simply don't want him to fight at all if he doesn't fight Mayweather or insanely try and take on the middleweight champion of the world when he's a rather shaky fit at light middleweight at that. You can't please all of the people all of the time. And you really can't please idiots. If Margarito called him out and he fought Berto, people would be going "Pacman didn't want any of Margarito, so he cherry-picks the guy that should've lost to Collazo!" or if he fought another welterweight champion like Zaveck, instead of being applauded for setting up a unification fight with a low-reward champion in an attempt to clean up the division, he'd get some jackoffs going "Floyd manned up and fought Mosley, who Pacman's still ducking to fight some nobody." Now he fights Mosley, he's got people going "Grandpa Mosley, because he looked like **** in his last two fights!" ...It never ****ing ends. Let fighters fight. ...****'s sake.

how embarrassing. none of you could respond to any of the facts presented. all you could try to do is diverge from the topic, or for some reason changed the topic to mayweather. I understand Pac is your favorite fighter but your blind obsession with him is kind of creepy. There really is nothing you can say to all the facts I presented so I don't blame you for your pointless remarks than can't refute any of the points I've made.

Oh, I should explain. 1. Pacquiao isn't even close to my favorite fighter and 2. It only took a few lines before I realized I couldn't waste my time with your shitty post. I hope that cleared everything up for you, mate.

Pacquiao got hit in the belly and almost went down, Clearly Margarito was the best champion PAC faced, was the hardest fight ever, Did you see how Big he was???? 17 Pounds! 17 POUNDS *****... that means ATG HOF Margarito.. best of the best, coming off great wins...

    In english:
Manny Pacquiao appears to cherry pick his opponents because he ****ing does.

He's so heavily favored because many doubt said opponent will even make the starvation weight Manny demands.

Alot of bull**** arguments that don't make sense.

Somehow Andre Berto deserves a shot at Manny Pacquiao. Berto does make a prime target because Collazo already whipped that ass. Combine this with the fact that Berto is one of the most unimpressive champions and your reminded of the selection of David Diaz when Pacman was tearing:)lol:) up lightweight:lol:
    Damn this is fun.
