Could Pacquiao have cherry picked anyone harder than Antonio Margarito?

Right Pac is on Arum's leash and does whatever he is told, despite the fact that Pac is the one making Arum all the money. Who I want Pac to fight has nothing to do with him cherry-picking Margarito though.

One thing I would like is an opponent not coming off a devastating one sided loss within 2 fights. Fights i would like would be Mayweather, Berto, Martinez, Bradley just off the top of my head. I don't think Pac would pick them though because they haven't lost recently.

You sir are a fool, can you please share how many world championship that you won in your spectacular career. I would bet that although JMM and Katsidis are BUM's in your eyes they would still KYTFO inside of one round.

sounds like you got owned. i would give up if i was trying to debate me as well. You were boring from the start by the way, you offered nothing constructive at all to the debate, you actually didn't even bother refuting the points. Can you even refute 1 point i made in my original post, you have 6 to choose from?

So you think Pacquiao is still with Arum because he thinks he is a good bloke? I bet they still have a contract and that is why he is still with him.

Im not saying that pacquiao has no say in who he fights, but one thing for sure is that if Margarito wasnt a Bob Arum fighter he would have never ever EVER got a fight with pacquiao.

Facts are that some champions get to a point in there career were they pick who they fight and its usually who will get them the most money for the least risk.

    here is a small list;
    pac
    mayweather
    roy
    bernard
    hatton
    calzaghe
    the list goes on...

he was forced to do a catchweight?,lol, a catchweight where he weighs more than he ever did before at welter?,where he didnt have to starve as much as he usually did at wetlerweight?.

margairto still had a solid chin,a lot of heart, and a difficult style for most to deal with.

who should he have fought who was a bigger name, had a better chin, fought harder than margairto?

manny only fought this fight cuz floyd still no where to be found.

Aside from Mosley, those guys might not be able to withstand for long a punch coming from the middleweight. So you are thinking out of your ass if you think all of them can easily beat Margo at 150lbs. Their chins are unproven at the higher weights with Berto's chin already challenged in the lower weights. Pac felt the pain of a Margo punch, those guys will more probably go down on a Margo liver punch.

a good point... but unlike the NBA and other sports, the boxing fans pay hard earned money for fights, in a sport that is gradually losing its world wide appeal. so instead of being fobbed off with real quality fights pacquaio vs berto, mayweather vs paul williams etc etc, our so called "hero's of the sport" are becoming nothing more than quick-buck artists... and we as boxing fans deserve better than a pre-ordained out come. this sport is about competion, and anyone thinks Margarito is (or was) competition for Pacquaio is just kidding themselves... and either way, there are at LEAST 3 more fighters that Pacquaio could have chose... hence the blogg being acurate to be honest!!! :bbb

how do you cherry pick cotto, clottey, margarito. Are you guys fukin stupid. Those three fighters Foyd had no interest in fighting and are real fighters. thats when you know pac is a phenom when you start calling these calibre fighters cherry picks, and i might add pac was a former flyweight champ of the world. Guys hate now but he is a living legend that will go down as one of the greatest, and you clowns discrediting him now will look mightily stupid when years past.

Just tell us who you think Pac should have fought instead of Margarito that people here will not consider "cherrypicking".

He should have fought a real champion like Baldomir, a killer like Zab, or he should have brought the ever so dangerous Sharmba Mitchell out of retirement to fight him at 147.

Exactly. I can be critical of Pacquiao myself sometimes, but the reason people argue he is cherry-picking is because Pacquiao is held in such high-regard even by the most ardent of Mayweather fans. Basically it is being argued that no fighter is worthy of being in the ring with Pacquaio.

If Pacquiao had fought Mayweather and beat him instead of Cotto or Clottey, I don't think anybody would be too concerned if he fought Margarito in 2010 or Mosley in 2011.

The Pac skeptics will deem any opponent that he faces as a "cherry".

U R TALKING TO ANOTHER CLASS OF FLOYDETTE!

The FLOYDETTE MORONIC IQ range is subdivided further to plain moron, more moron, and moron moron. He belongs to the last one.

    Logic does not work.

To them, being on vacation is actually better than fighting Margarito. Infact being on vacation is better than fighting at all!
