Two things, I'll keep it simple. First you take speed, I take timing I win everytime. Whether Pacquiao is faster than Floyd is irrelevant. Amir Kahn has faster hand speed than both but can't beat either. Depending on how you define speed (hand speed, foot speed, one punch, combos) you could pick either but timing is not debatable. Floyd by far has better timing.

Pacquiao fought Clotty at the exact time most people believe Pacquiao was prime to beat Mayweather. Clotty went 12 rounds, no knockdowns, PAC landed 20% of his shots, and Clotty was never hurt. Mayweather is 1, 2 or 3 defensively all time. Is Clotty even in the top 500?

Any Pacquiao KO theory is saying that Clotty did better defensively than Mayweather would do. I can't say that with a straight face. what are the odds of that? 1 in a million? Someone is going to make the ridiculous claim that Clotty's defensive style is more effective against Pac than Mayweather's. You want to make the argument that Pac gets lucky 1 fight in a million, I won't debate that.

Offensively, Pac is easy to hit and Mayweather is one of the most accurate punchers ever. Floyd has a longer reach and is a better counterpuncher than Marquez. Marquez may be more willing to take a shot to give a better counter and sits on more of his shots than Mayweather, but if Pac can't hurt Floyd, he gets outpointed easily. If you think Pac can hurt Floyd, watch the Clotty fight again. If you think Floyd is going to make a mistake that opens him up or that Pac sets Floyd up for that beautiful left, you're crazy. Pac doesn't set anyone up, he ambushes them and you're probably the same person who calls Mayweather boring and complains because he doesn't take chances.

You can take it for granted that Mayweather does AT LEAST as good as Clotty defensively. That means no KO, no KD, Floyd is never really hurt. Unlike De La Hoya, Mosely and Cotto, Pacquiao Floyd's offense won't be curbed because he is taking punsihment. Pacquiao cannot win a decision against Floyd in a fight that isn't fixed. At best Pacquiao loses a wide UD at worst Mayweather times Pacquiao and Pacquiao KO's himself running into a counter right.

Around that the time he KOed Hatton his hands were so fast I could not see them while he was throwing punches. I think that speed and power was going to bother Floyd. When they fought they were both faded but I think that in this particular match up Pac losing some of his speed was a big factor.

Yet again Floyd is bigger and rangier. Maybe he was always going to use footwork and distance to frustrate Pac.

Floyd never liked fighting physical fighters. He loved fighting other pure boxers or punchers where he could think, move and re-calibrate his attack.

In my honest opinion I believe that from 130-140 I give Mayweather absolutely no chance of beating Pacquiao. And that's impressive because Manny's best weight class was 126.

Floyd in my opinion would get knocked out. He would not be able to handle the machine like stamina of a prime Pacquiao.

That KO was possible because of the way Hatton fought. It has nothing to do with Pac being faster back in 09. If you give him angles, Pac struggles. If you walk in straight line like Hatton did, then you walk into something you don't see coming.

Pacquiao struggled against Marquez (still actually beat Marquez) because of a style nightmare.

He struggled against Morales because he was a massive badass with an almost unfathomable chin and could eat everything under the sun.

Floyd presents neither of these problems.

    I say no...

and if they fought a rematch I think Floyd wins more convincingly....Floyd would not be worried about mannys power...and I think hed time more rights...Floyd was just missing with some rights in may and I think hed time them and land more and more flush if they did it again

I think the more pertinent question would be is Floyd the biggest hype job of all time? Why? Because he twisted every advantage to his side from refs, to judges, to location, to doping agencies. Who else gets away with doping and receives a magical retroactive TUE?

Just how good was Mayweather when he needed to every advantage every time he fought and he needed to dope to the gills so much that he had to flush 15 times the IV limit the day before. Seriously, how good was he if he needed to CHEAT this hard every time?

If Pacquiao was naturally bigger, taller and longer reach then Pac would have won a close fight in May but if they fought in 2009 and Pac was the naturally bigger guy it would have been an easy fight for Manny

The smaller Pacquiao not being able to get in range often enough, that was key to Mayweather's victory

I would've picked a prime Pacquiao over Floyd. Reason was is because of how unorthodox Pacquiao was with his movement and angles. He also threw a lot combinations in the center of the ring, everywhere to be honest. Combine that with his power and punch output, I think it would've been very difficult. If you think bout it, Pacquiao only needed to land one flurry per round to win it. He was still able to win 4- debatable 5- rounds. (Remember, 2 judges had him winning four rounds). So, put in a prime Pacquiao instead, I think he would've won the exchanges and enough rounds to win a decision. We saw this Pacquiao hurt/buzz/stun/whatever Mayweather a couple times in their fight (4th and 6th round). Maybe a prime would've done a lot more damage, possibly KO. Still would be difficult due to Mayweather's slipperiness though. Maybe further down in the fight when the prime Pac would amp up his output and pace to overwhelm the opponent.

Too bad we will never know.
