PBF is arguably the best boxer right now among all pro boxers around the world; more so among any non boxer posting on this forum. No doubt he's frightened of Pac as evidenced by his blood test proposal. I'm inclined to lean towards his belief on the covidence he has against Pac than what his die hard fans may think. As a boxer PBF should know better what a fellow boxer is capable of than someone who hasn't even stepped inside a boxing ring. So to most people who post here saying Floyd is confident he will beat Pac try to become a boxer first, maybe I might believe you.

    Can't agree, John.

At the highest level, so much of the game is psychological.

And Pac was inside Floyd's head.

Oscar was a bit of a surprise, but the cognoscenti claimed (post facto) that of course Pac was always going to take that, as Oscar was shot, weight-drained, whatever.

But they were shocked again after the second round destruction of Ricky.

Ol' Floyd (who'd trained Hatton) said the Filipino gotta be on something (and got the whole PED **** rolling)...

When Cotto got battered around the ring like a rag doll, even Li'l Floyd started to get nervous, and that's when he dreamed up the PED testing roadblocks that ultimately derailed the fight.

In 2009/2010, I would have given Pac a 45 % ( or better ) chance of beating Floyd.
    And Floyd himself was unsure.

While Floyd would always have to be favoured in this match-up, a Pac victory was a distinct possibility.

And while it was a possibility, the Mayweathers had no interest in making the fight.

So the answer is YES !

    Very possibly.

The fact that Floyd ducked Manny in 2009 in and of itself tells you that even Floyd himself knew there was a very real chance Pac would beat him.

Based on Pacs speed, power and movement it would of been 50/50 in 2009 era.

If they fought today it would not even be a competition, Floyd would win with ease.

The worst thing Floyd could do to his legacy is fight Manny now, his credibility would take a huge blow

Then you are either lying, dishonest, or never watched pacman fight or need thick glasses like mr maagoo.

    :-(
Ok so you are a liar, its settled.

By beating him to pulp thats how.

    1. Floyd has always had issues with southpaws, even ones who were far lesser fighters than pacman, Zab Judah won 5 rounds straight and knocked down Floyd. This is Jab Zudah a guy who chokes at every major opportunity.
    2. Pacman punches harder, has better endurance and is all round better than Zudah Its not inconceivable that a better version of Zab could win 2 more rounds and win the fight 7-5.
    3. Floyd uses a should roll defence that is highly effective against orthodox fighters but it useless against lefties. Hence why he has trouble with left handers, he has to fight differently, no shoulder rolling away every onslaught
4.Given that Floyd's most lost rounds come against a medicore south paw the theory IS proven, there is NOTHING special about Judah.
5.Pacman is a small guy who routinely makes mince meat of bigger guys like cotto and margarito, the size argument is irrelevent, oscar is 5'11 and he beat him silly.
    6. An argument can be made that well floyd beats powerful guys all the time yes true, but pacman is the better mover, he jumps all around the ring for 12 rounds, pacman isn't going to get gassed out like hatton
    7. Pacman has chin and ability to take a punch. Sure marquez nailed him with a great shot, but most guys who fight as many fights as he does will have some knock outs
    8. Mayweather's chin is questionable to many out there think he can't take a punch ala the mosley fight. If the theory is true then pacman's odds go up of winning because evreryon says he is the hardest hitter around. Marquez beat him in what 6 rounds and his nose, lips, mouth and eyes were all bloody. How often does that happen?
    9. Floyd cannot dance pacman for the same reason that leonard couldn't just dance away from duran in the first fight. Pacman has the endurance to chance down floyd and throw punches and hit him anywhere. None of floyd's opponents have had that ability so far.
    10. Frankly it is an all round bad matchup for floyd. Pacman is the best swarmer, floyd is the best mover, top swarmers tend to beat top movers. Frankly the odds should favour pacman.
    11. If pacman is such an easy win for floyd, why not take the fight, why all these excuses. I know excuses come from both sides. But why is he full of excuses. Why not just fight the guy?
    12. Frankly I have trouble seeing what advantage floyd has. He is fast but so is pacman, pac has fought at lower weights and the lower the weight goes the faster and better endurance the fights tend to be. If floyd wins, he will have to fight the whole time.
    13. Also Floyd will be getting hit, alot, he better be able to take a punch ebcause pacman is going to punch him with nothing but hard shots to the body. He isn't going to be head hunting an elsuive guy. He is going to drill him with liver and kidney shots and when he slows down beat him to a pulp. I don't see floyd winning and I don't think floyd thinks he'd win which is why he don't fight the guy.

I said it in 09 and I say it now, FMJ will beat Pac at ANY time at ANY weight in their respective careers.Mismatch.

Pac has fast hands , throws a lot of inaccurate leather, fast feet but poor footwork, power is grossly overrated, good stamina, poor defense, has no jab, cannot avoid a straight right if you put a gun to his head, poor ring IQ borderline dumb, cannot adjust or change gameplan on the fly, essentially if he cannot overwhelm his opponent he is in deep waters, see the Marquez fights.
The funny thing is that Pac would force being ko'ed similar what he did when he went to sleep, instead of setting Marquez up he got more reckless by the minute with the motto "I gonna get you" lol, he would be even more frustrated against FMJ and there is a high probability that he would get laid out because of that.

Lets face it, while talented against certain styles , washed up has beens or never weres plus catchweights he simply ain't got enough brain to compete with FMJ, fact.

The key to beat FMJ is height combined with a excellent jab, fighting a disiplined fight with no stamina issues in the center of the ring forcing FMJ to come in....currently there is no fighter around in his weight classs with those attributes so only father time will beat him.

Pac ain't got none of that, Arum knows it, Roach knows it and ultimately Pac knows it.

The million dollar question is does he deserve a huge payday for a guaranteed loss

I'll say something controversial here but IMO the only fighter with a good chance of beating Floyd was Hamed.
The reason I say this was his unorthodox-ness and the unexpected punches coming from unexpected angles.
He hit hard too, but Floyd knows when a punch is coming from 99% of the boxers out there. You need to be very lucky to have one get through at the best of times and Hamed's style meant that he had a better chance than most.

I'm not saying he would have won, but he would have had a better chance than most.

No. Never. Pac was at one time the second or third best fighter besides Floyd, I'll give him that. He would probably beat everyone besides Floyd and of course Marquez, who had his number.

Pac was and is very entertaining to watch against fighters with certain styles, and he handles them in dominant and exciting fashion. However, he has a huge problem with talented defensive fighters and skilled counter-punchers such as Marquez and Mayweather. Anyone who shows him good defensive footwork and speed he will always have trouble with.

In the case of Mayweather, he would have been schooled thoroughly and would have clearly lost a unanimous decision. He would have made it very interesting throughout the fight with his good stamina and workrate and other attributes, but in the end the scorecards wouldn't be closer than 8-4, if that.

Mayweather was never at any risk of being knocked out by Pac because he has an iron chin, and he protects it better than anybody the sport has ever seen. His powers of recovery are also remarkable, as evidenced in the Mosley fight when he was hit with two HUGE perfect shots and came back that very round with a vengeance.

I don't believe Pac ever had any good chance of winning that fight, with or without PEDs, and I was fully prepared to bet upwards of $20,000 on the fight to back up my opinion. And I would have gotten great odds for a Mayweather fight and was looking forward to it. If the fight ever does pop off, I would still bet the house on it.

I cant see how anyone could say manny couldn't have beaten Floyd
at the time this fight should have taken place, people were split down the middle on this board
