could Pacquiao look any more like Roberto Duran

When Lampley paused for a few seconds then went into his 2nd group of bangs, Clottey blocked every shot.

Then again Lampley does have a history of getting excited over punches that don't land.

That was disturbing. I was like "what the hell is wrong with Jim ?" at that moment.
    BANG, BANG, BANG BANG BANG...

I remember when Oscar fought Pernell, Jim was, indeed, quite excited over missed punches and ineffective flurries.

I suggest HBO replace Lampley with an 8 year-old kid.
Why bother paying the man a salary, when a kid would do this for the chance to stay up late and an endless supply of popcorn.

Anyone else think those compubox stats were bull****?

I thought Pac was landing a good number of body shots which compubox failed to credit him with

As I said on the general forum, the BANG BANG BANG comments from Lampley were a step up in class from his usual level of fight analysis.

I also loved Harold Lederman's constant reference to Pac's clean punching, especially when he has landing at sub-20% for half the rounds and what was getting through was pretty much always deflected to the dome.

The whole crew needs to be given the ass ASAP.

I WISH there was an option to have commentary off but leave crowd and punch sounds on. I also hate when they talk between rounds over the trainers.

I hate being negative all the time, but I am under the impression that the 'compubox technology' is just two fellas sitting at ringside with some buttons for hits and misses? So it would make sense that they would be perceptible to the same kind of influence from the crowd, bad angle to see a punch or just how difficult it is to try and track every punch in a round, with just one high workrate fighter. Compubox is a joke, like when Calzaghe outlanded Mayweather with power punches?

They are in the same position as the crowd and the judges, and we have seen countless examples of both getting it horribly wrong. The only interesting punchstat is total thrown as a measure of activity and workrate. What is a 'power punch' anyway? Anything that isn't a jab?

Yeah i always ignore punchstats and just score the round.

Btw, Calzaghe outlanded Mayweather? Maybe i just intepreted the wording wrong there but it sounds like they had a fight!

I think he's talking about landing to the face.

Not much you can do when your opponent is exclusively guarding his face, he won and won every round.

I gave the third round to Joshua Clottey, but other than that, you won't see too many arguments. My point is still correct, Manny seldom landed with a headshot. I know he won practically every round because, like your self, I sat my ass down to watch it at 4am in the morning.

That was a damn quick reply. To be honest I think I gave Clottey a share of one of the rounds, it was near the end but my main point is a guy as big as Clottey can stand there with his hands up and catch Pacquiao's punches all day, no matter how good he is he cant stop that, he can drop to the body to try and bring his hands down which Pacquiao was trying to do but Clottey's a hard *******, I *wish* he had been more adventurous.

You should record, thats what I did.

What about the final three 10,11,12? They were close rounds. So were 6,7 imo.

I had it 117 - 113 Pacman in the end, but i do tend to score rounds even more so than most people.

Pachilles, that scorecard would get you killed on the General Forum. Keep it close to your heart...trust me.
