I’m sure that Marvin would have had great respect for Floyd’s skills.

I don’t think that he’d have entertained a chess match up with Floyd though.

    Canelo wasn’t bigger than Marvin.

You mean that he was heavier than Marvin.

How have you arrived at this conclusion?

    Canelo was young.

He hadn’t had much big fight experience.

He showed Floyd far too much respect and stood off of him all night.

Iran Barkley was a seasoned fighter who’d beaten Hearns twice.

He was very strong, confident and aggressive.

He was very big in comparison to Duran.

He was 6’1, with a 74” reach, whereas Duran was 5’7 with a 66” reach.

Fighting Barkley was the much tougher challenge.

I think Canelo would have been a bad style match up for Barkley and would pick Canelo prime for prime. The pre prime, weight drained Canelo that fought Mayweather though, I'm less certain on.

I'd favour the Barkley that Duran beat over any version of FM. When you consider that FM was a great, great fighter, and that Duran was 37, 4 weight divisions above his best, that's an amazing win.

It was an amazing win if you put into context.

It has to rate higher than Floyd’s win over Canelo.

You’d have favoured Barkley over Floyd?

    That’s interesting.

A terrible stylistic match up for him.

Yeah, that's what I meant by "FM". I'd favour Barkley over any version of Floyd Mayweather. Given how great I consider Mayweather was, indicates how amazing I think Duran's win over Barkley was aged 37. Tbh, Barkley is a worse style match up for Mayweather than Duran.

Iran Barkley was my man from the Bronx back in the day. Hus nephew, Saquan, is a great running ba k fro the New York Football Giants.

Iran would Maidonafy Floyd. Too big, too strong.

Barcley is just too big for Floyd. He would be all over Floyd.

    Why would it be obvious?

We’re not asking who the better fighter was.

Look at the stylistic match up.

when Leonard fought them? give him Leonard's natural size and I dont see why not

    Everything Leonard did, Floyd does better. that's why Leonard is 36 - 3 - 1 while Floyd went 50 - 0

If you take Leonard's sparring session in preparing for Hagler, he was actually taken out by his sparring partner which tells us he has two knockout losses during his career

It would also confirm that Hagler was washed up when Leonard called him out

There was a poster here who repeatedly said "where there is a Sugar Ray, there has to be a way"

but this is clearly undeserved hype as proved by his record and if he couldnt handle younger competition, Floyd clearly could

the way he lost to Norris and Camacho tells us that he was not in the class of Floyd. And I am very grateful that floyd did not end his career like Leonard

It’s always a pleasure watching you tie yourself up in knots.

You think that Marvin was shot.

You think that he beat Ray.

So you think a that shot Marvin beat Ray in 1987, after Ray got knocked out in sparring.

Yet you also believe that Ray wasn’t shot against Norris 4 years later.

    Ha!

You can’t have it both ways you fool.

Alleged knockouts or knockdowns in training count as losses?
