The difference is that we don’t know the answer for Hagler and Hearns against Floyd, whereas Leonard would be beaten to death with a lenient ref and corner against Canelo at 37.

You may feel you don't know the answer, I'm equally as confident on Hearns vs Mayweather as I am Canelo vs 37-year old SRL, and if not equally as confident on the Hagler SRL beat vs Mayweather, the difference is negligible.

Mayweather deserves kudos for longevity. That being said many athletes, not just boxers, are shot at thirty seven years old. I judge athletes by peak performance, longevity, high leverage moments, and cultural impact*

*Purists don't like it. The best athletes transcend their craft.

Why would he have been beaten to death?

The version of Canelo who fought Floyd, was a passive counterpuncher who’d barely beaten Lara and Trout, who struggled with movement.

Can't see him beating Hagler or Hearns.

SRL's stoppage of Hearns was pretty conclusive

Well honestly a 37 year old Leonard would of lost to even that version of Canelo, remember Leonard took a beating off Norris at 35 years old, I believe that he was his age. And a 37 year old Leonard would've been totally shot against Canelo. But the Leonard who fought Hagler, would've outpointed Canelo pretty clearly.

Cause Hearns gassed out. Up until then, he was outboxing Leonard. Had it been a 12 round fight, Hearns wins.

So Leonard did beat Hearns then?

Not in my eyes. Hearns proved he was the better boxer.

    I hear you.

Ray was very faded at that point. But Norris was fast, powerful and aggressive. He was much more of an offensive fighter than Canelo was.

Canelo is a counterpuncher who was very passive against Floyd. He also struggled with Lara and Trout.

Yes, a 37 year old version of Ray would have been even older than the version who fought Norris. We don’t really know shape he’d have been in.

Yes, Canelo would have been favoured to have won. But I don’t think that he’d have beaten him up like No Neck suggested, simply because I don’t think that he’d have fought Ray really aggressively.
