Could Peak Joe Bugner Go Fifteen With Rocky Marciano?

Of course he could. The one thing Bug always had was a world class jaw and body and the frame to make things difficult for anyone. The one thing he didn't have was a great punch output. Rocky on a 15 round decision.

 

I’ve already said that Bugner could last but there’s some chance that he could also stun Rocky with a random right hand or more.

When he let the hands go, and he did display fast hands, Joe showed he had decent power - none too surprising given his size.

I wonder if being apparently a little bit too muscle bound also lent itself to Joe’s often, less than ideal output.

 

He could possibly cut Rocky with the jab. Depending on when the fight took place he could get a TKO on cuts.

 

Possibly, that would have been Joe's best chance really.

 

Yes. He went 15 rounds with Ali, 12 with Frazier, 12 with Lyle.

 

If he went into survival mode, he’d have a great chance of going the distance, as he did against Frazier.

 

Joe Bugner could go the distance, but I am thinking Joe gets stopped in any rematch with Rocky Marciano.

 

The question is could Rocky last. I say not for 15. Joe tkos Rocky late.

 

Without KO'ing him? Joe would have to pull his punches and perhaps stand him up a few times, as tough as that bending over might be. But yes, I think Joe could pull it off.
