Could Prime Calzaghe find a way through AA's Guards? What style can beat AA?

By Calzaghe coming in from angles will make him more suspect to a straight right
but u wud have to be a master counter puncher like B-Hop to land such a punch effectively on JC, and AA has the power in tht straight right to do damage

true but flooring a fighter doesnt always equate to a KO. look at tito in the early rounds.

Hopkins caught him early, more of a flash KD

Jones had him hurt - smashed him with his forearm

Calzaghe is vurnerable at the start of fights - when AA does nothing

Calzaghe has a fantastic chin, the Kessler uppercuts in R4 and Jones uppercut in R6 would have stopped many a fighter

Bull ****, both. Kessler is not a big puncher you're talking bs mate. And Joe has been down against journeyman like Bikas, Salems.

It's a moot point. Abraham to young, too fresh for Calzaghe to consider fighting him. Besides, it would probably come down to AA not being WBO-rated, as was Calzaghe's preference back in the day.

It's amazing. A guy like Larry Holmes gets no respect over a lifetime after all of his good work but Calzaghe gets too much off of four fights, two of which came against old men and the other an obviously flawed greenhorn.

    Ten years of no-names.

    Think about that!

AA is a good fighter but we're getting a little carried away here - remember JT has now been badly beaten / stopped in 3/4 fights. Prime Calzaghe's workrate , angles and rhythm would have been way too much. Kessler is a better boxer and possible bigger single puncher than AA as well as being better physically equipped to match off. A slightly past prime JC won going away from Kessler. I still see Kessler winning this tournament reasonably comfortably unless he gets old overnight.

Calzaghe was cut against Bika - never hurt and certainly not knocked down.

Sorry - outside of the very ordinary Miranda and an obviously shot JT where are the big names on AA's record? For absolute clarity I think there's a lot to like about AA but some double standards here in terms of resume. In any event Calzaghe is retired - this tournament anoints the successor - enjoy for what it is

Calzaghe would beat Abraham via UD 12 in close, competitive fight. I think Marvin Hagler would beat Abraham, and Tommy Hearns probably too, in terms of older legends in their primes that is. However Abraham is a great fighter and I think he will win the Super 6, and Kesslers the only one who has a chance to stop him imo.

Calzaghe wins a decision. I could see Calzaghe sweeping the tournament if he was in it.

We will find out re: Kessler in the tournament. I think Calzaghe would have figured out a strategy to win, because that's what he always did.

But King Arthur is indeed formidable.

Maybe Andrade, with his SUBERB Chin and his ability to keep coming forward.. Tireless
