joe, B-hop, dawson, Glen Johnson, Paul W, Dirrel and kessler are a few of the fighters that have a great chance at beating AA. this Is not putting AA down because all of these guys (minus Dirrel who I still say has not been proven) are great, proven fighters who are not shot like taylor (this may seem cruel because I am a fan of JT but I call it like I see it). there are a ton of tough fights out there for AA (green, ward, bute . . . etc). In a nut shell what I am trying to say is that, like fighters around the WW division,, the supermiddles have some great fighters with many different styles that could cause AA problems. like PW who beat winky with volume and B-hop who did the same by creating angles dirrel could potentially beat him with speed and angles (he has to
"grow up quick"). Glenn Johnson could beat him with his toughness and sheer determination. Pavlik has a punchers chance and a ggod one at that. AA Is not in a class of his own. out of the six fighters in the tourney I thought he clearly would beat JT (shot . . . who I pray he is ok), froch (average fighter), Dirrel (untested) and aa slight fav over ward and pick-em against kessler. I originally thought AA was a favourite in this whole thing plus I am a fan of skill and therfore a fan of AA but i do not think he has reach the level to question is anyone could beat him.

And what information are you going off to come out with that? Calzaghe had a very good chin and was never knocked out as you can see from the fact that his record shows he was unbeaten. Calzaghe beats Abraham, just like he would any other fighter in the super 6. That's not to say I don't think the fighters in the tournament are not any good, but they are not in Calzaghes league to be honest.

Of course. Watch Khoren Gevor fight, it was a very close fight before the KO. Also Miranda would win the first fight if it wasnt for point deductions.

Bad Intentions2 - "agreed. not convinced yet kessler can take this tournament as comfortably as you say though".

On reflection what I meant to say was that I see Kessler as clear favourite - I don't see any of the contests (assuming JT withdraws - I worry for him now) being easy in and of themselves.

Both Kessler and Calzaghe fight at a higher tempo than most fighters at SMW from start to finish. And this is the way to unlock AA.

Fighting at AAs pace, will make it extremely hard to win.

Roy Jones did that "shell" thing that AA does when he fought against Calzaghe, and we saw how that worked for him.

AA would have a better chance at beating Calz than just about every other boxer in this division. If the fight turns into something like the bout Calz had against bika, then AA would win.

Calzaghe could beat anyone in his weight class in his prime. I genuinely believe that, he was amazing.

Andrade has a great chin, but a leaky defense. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of Abraham's big hooks put his lights out in this one.

Roy Jones WAS a shell (of his former self) when he fought Calzaghe.

Prime versions of Calz, Roy, and Hopkins would all embarass AA.

AA is a good fighter, but one dimensional. A fighter with good movement and good combinations should be able to solve a constant high guard without too much problem, or at least break him out of it. Start your combos to the body then bring them up top. Jab to the midsection. Throw wide hooks to get around the gloves, build up a huge early lead, stick and move thru the later rounds. You're sure as hell not going to beat him by fighting like Taylor did, constantly throwing a jab right into his gloves.

Winky Wright did what AA does, but much better. He came forward behind that guard, constantly looking for opportunities to punch and his arms were longer so he was able to protect his rib cage and his head simultaneously. AA is one tough mother****er and I respect him, but I don't really think much of his style. If he's matched up with a thinking fighter with quick hands he's going to lose.

prime RJJ would embarass Calzaghe, badly. Cal would have whooped AA though.
