Styles make fights and Joyce has a powerful jab and great gas tank.

Is Dubois an easy fight for Joyce or was Dubois just a bit green and Joyce got him at the right time.

Dubois landed the kitchen sink on Joyce and Joyce didn’t even blink from what I recall.
Dubois from AJ fight was kind of the same as Dubois from Joyce fight. Only difference being Dubois from AJ fight knew he could get ktfo but he had steeled himself from going through a couple of tough wars

I think Joyce is just a bad match up tbh

They should make that fight. Revenge match. Let's see how much Dubois has actually improved

Joyce looks awful against some opponents and amazing against others. I'd back Joyce to beat Dubios if he came in shape.

Joyce needed a freak injury to beat 22 year old Dubois, Dubois was ahead on the cards.

Joyce has lost 3 of his last 4 fights and just lost to the war torn corpse of Chisora. He doesn't deserve **** at the moment. The only fight of relative note that's interesting is a loser leaves town match with Yoka.

I'm not confident of Joyce's chances the current version or the prime version. Dubois' problem in the first fight was he didn't move his head so all he had to do was jab and he couldn't miss Dubois' head. But current Dubois has some head movement not a lot but maybe enough to slip the jab enough to get inside more. Dubois also has a different approach, he presses a lot more than he used too. Against Joyce he was often staying at range, even backing up but he's now very much a come forward pressure style fighter, he won't give Joyce as much space to work the jab as before. Dubois also counter punches now so can look to counter the Joyce jab and Joyce is open to counters as the Zhang and Chisora fights showed.

I confidently picked Joyce when they fought the 1st time, but Dubois has improved enough now I think he can win.

Currently Joyce would likely LOSE and severely.
The best version of Joyce versus this version of Dubois? I suspect Dubois would win. He's improved quite a bit.

Current Joyce is punch drunk if you haven't noticed.

Prime Joyce, yes, though Dubois had a chance of getting to the scorecards back then, and he would have now. At the end of the day Dubois does not have a great plan B when they can take his punch, or they can make him miss. Miller was extremely hittable but much less of a fighter compared to best of Joe, Hrgovic came underprepared and prone to gas, and Joshua chinny. All good to great wins, but none was granite, athletic, with 15 rounds gas tank, and a great jab. There was always something missing, which Dubois with his dedication, willingness, and professionalism could finally break through.

I strongly believe the current Dubois will beat the current Joyce.

It's been 4 years and Joyce is declining while Dubois is at the top of his game.

Objectively speaking, Joyce shouldn't get rematch because he doesn't deserve it.

    Current Joyce gets blown out.

Dubois was a green pro 23 year old when he lost to Joyce, buzzed him a little early and was legitimately ahead after 7 rounds but quit in 10.

Prime for prime I'd slightly favour Dubois because he could take Joyce out early-mid-late or win on points, whereas Joyce would probably either have to break Dubois down late or edge it on points. A draw would be very possible here.

Dubois can hit but not with speed/momentum like Zhang. Ultimately he wasn't able to dent or even slow Joyce's progress. And he can't crowd and maul and press the gas like Chisora. Joyce literally beat Dubois with one hand. He pummeled him into submission. Joyce literally beat Dubois with one hand. He pummeled him into submission.

ometimes stylistic foils are just stylistic foils.

Dubious lost partly because he is very similar to AJ, a bully fighter who quits when the going gets too tough. Joyce got the upper hand and Dubious quit. Usyk ground him down also. People are quick to forget that Dubious is a quitter.

What happens if AJ drops Dubious early and hurts him badly? Probably Dubious quits. But since AJ got nailed first and got disadvantaged, Dubious could bully him.

There will come a day when the quit comes out again. It might require a tough opponent that can take some damage or at least take him into deep waters with defence, but also I think someone who can hurt him bad can make him quit.

Joyce probably doesn't have the punch resistance anymore and really I think he has unfinished business with Zhang.

Exactly. a year or so from now the forum will be calling Dubois a bum again. He's peaked and is currently on the best streak he's ever going to be able to string together.
