There is always levels to this game. So many people get caught up in the hype and forget there are levels.

Wasn’t long ago when Inoue was apparently the no.1 p4p puncher in the sport because he knocked 3 champs out in inside 3 rounds. The issue is level of competition, he never did it with top level competition and neither has Ortiz.

When Inoue finally fought an iron chin level competition like donaire, it went the full 12 rounds and suddenly his power didn’t look like out of this planet.

It’s just levels. Wilder has never KOd anyone with a chin on the level of mercer. I don’t think he could have stopped Vitaly either.

Vitali Klit should come out of retirement to challenge Wilder, leave his cushy desk job is not likely though... He could beat Foreman's oldest champion record of which Kong could have if he hadn't gotten put into Sleepy Time by Beyoncé!!

lol Lord have mercy. Lewis, Morrison, and Holyfield among others couldn't crack Mercer's titanium mandible and all of them could actually fight. Bootleg Dorticos has never knocked out anyone with a set of whiskers like Mercer's. Not even close. He unloaded everything bar the kitchen sink on Duhaupas' mandible section, that's the same Duhaupas who was dropped heavily by CW scrub Bikoi, and he didn't come close to dropping him and Old Man River Ortiz has literally only fought one puncher in his entire career. The only one who would be getting knocked out in that hypothetical match up is Bootleg Dorticos and I'd bet big on it too.

Not only Mercer. How about Tua/Brewster/McCall/Puritty? I think Timo Hoffman can go the distance too. Maybe even Mavrovic.

And that is not getting to the good defensive guys or good mobility guys that won't stand on the outside to get hit full force.
