Could Ron Lyle take the beating Tyson took vs Holyfield & Douglas and not be stopped?

    Interesting question especially in regard to a widely acknowledged as past it Holy. Holy was just too good a fighter to let Lyle get too far. Lyle would have probably staggered Holy a few times, but gotten knocked the hell out of before 9. Holy would have found the range with the hook and mercilessly pummeled him thereafter.

    So...yeah, Lyle could have taken the beating but only in that he would have taken more shots than Mike. Mike was a far better defensive fighter, even post prison. But Holy would have landed far more often than he did on Mike, and Lyle would have succumbed earlier imo.

    Not sure on Buster...Buster's victory was a certain context (Mom dying) and Buster wasn't ever anywhere near as good before or since. I'm sure Tokyo BD would beat him but as far as the extent, not sure on that.

    The poll is flawed. One could think he'd last the distance against Douglas but not against Holyfield, or vice versa.
