If ony they had met in their primes. JC would have been exposed and Enzo would never have become Ring Magazine Trainer of the year (which he then mentioned in as many interviews as he could).

RJJ would have won - although I think it would have been a late stoppage/wide points win.

People tend to forget how awesome Roy was back in the '90s, especially at supermiddleweight. Joe being as vulnerable to right hands as he was, would be an easy target for Roy.

A popular belief is that Calzaghe would have given PRIME Roy one of his toughest fights. I tend to disagree (and no I'm not being Anti-Calzaghe before anyone jumps on my arse! Just calling it how I would see it). Roy would have seen that huge opening for a right hand and launched straight in there, and just pounded on Calzaghe with a remarkable flurry of fast, quality punches. I could see the finish being similar to the Tony Thornton fight.
People think Joe's flurries are fast, but to be fair they don't have nothing on prime Roy Jones Jr, who was not only faster, but hit harder and was more accurate with his punches. Roy would have stunned him with a big one out of nowhere (remember how he used to throw left hooks and lead right hands with deadly precision from 10ft across the ring?!) then just jumped on him to get him out of there. Probably around the second round.

That's how I think it would have been.

    Roy Jones on points.

First and second round, you guys are genuises. Way worse fighters than Calzaghe have done much better than that with Jones. Jones spent a high proportion of the fight toying with his opponent.

James Tillis did way better against Mike Tyson than Michael Spinks did. So what does that mean?

When Jones was in the mood, he would get them out of there pretty quickly. Out of 7 fights at super-middleweight, 6 of them were by stoppage and 5 of them in 6 rounds or less.
I sense Jones would realize Calzaghe can be awkward and would want to get him out of there the first opportunity he had.

It means Michael Spinks did not have the chin to fight at heavyweight.

1 or 2 rounds my ass, Calzaghe is a lot better than that.

I tend to agree he would have lasted more than a couple of rounds but who would've thought 43 year old Hopkins was going to floor him in the opening round?
