I am a big fan of Calzaghe but I think that RJ Jnr would have stopped him between 7-10 rounds of a fairly one sided contest in his prime....

    Pecola Pecola Pecola.........:yep

    Prime RJJ?

    :p

Joe would have had a world of trouble with Merqui Sosa (who fought an incomparably better level of comp over his career - you know, guys actually in their prime).

not done him in 2 rds mind. :yep

i would have favoured a prime RJ over joe as well.

Not even a prim Roy approaches this fight looking for an early KO. Expect Roy to dance, jab, hook and move his way to a comfortable decision.

You missed the Jones, Hopkins, Mitchell and Salem fights. Eubank might have stopped him had the last punch landed a little earlier. Blind I tell thee.

It very well could have went the distance, but I can still see a scenario where Jones could have taken him out in as little as 1 round.

Take their fight for example. Jones had him down and somewhat hurt. The old explosive more mobile Jones may well have finished the job there and then.

Prime Roy was a super middle, don't get confused with the bored disinterested light heavy of the same name. KO 2

Exactly. Just like the alleged 220 he landed on Hopkins... I've never seen a fighter who has been hit 220 times be so fresh faced and unmarked after a fight.
Jeff, do you think a lot of people who think Calzaghe's work is so phenomenal actually know what constitutes a legal, scoring punch? Maybe that's where the confusion lies? :think

If he only slapped and missed why did he never get walked down?

Don't let facts get in the way of a good stereotype Grant. JC had no knock out power either, he didn't adapt to losing it through poor hands, JC would get starched by *insert ATG here* because he got hit with right hands a lot by right handers...no it doesn't matter that we don't actually know what would keep JC down seeing as he always got up, that doesn't fit the stereotype Grant! And don't even mention his resume, RJJ was a true champion taking on the best all the time and never ducked anyone in there prime especially not the man in question, neither did Hopkin's, it wasnt there fault when they lost either, they were old...JC wasn't old with no power any more or nothing.

FFS play the game will ya! He's a slapping fraud with no resume.
