Lol Roid jones would’ve gotten clipped eventually and put on his back with his goofy foot in the air again.

For all the nasty **** roy said about Wladimir around this time… surprised he didn’t try to back up his words and challenge Wlad :)

“Nawwww! Wit uh chin like dat.. I think he’ll stay away from me!”

    Yeah ok.

Could Roy Jones in 2004 have done what Kevin McBride and Danny Williams did and beat a shot to smithereens Tyson?

Of course, how is this even a question.

Look at how much Tyson declined, he was there for the taking by that stage.

The big homie from Australia Danny Green came out clapping and cracked Roy's chin in under 3mins. Danny had too much motion for Roy.

Glen Johnson of all people brutally KO'd Roid Jones in 2004. You're asking a lot of Roid to take punches from even a shot Tyson.

McBride was huge and laid on him. Mike didn't want to fight anymore. And Danny Williams was able to take some from Tyson. Tyson also hurt his leg. I have no idea why people never bring that up. He was destroying Williams before his knee went.

Roy is so fragile that I don't know if he's surviving a shot Tyson early onslaught.

    I voted no.

I did however find the sweetspot for when Roy Jones jr would have beat Mike Tyson.

    1977

Roy would have been 8 and Tyson would have been two and a half years older 10. At this time Mike had not done alot of boxing or any at all while Roy Jones jr did boxing from the day he was born. Roy would have beat Mike back in 1977 despite the age and size difference.

If both men deteriorate at a similar pace then there will be another sweetspot somewhere out there when senility strikes.

Other than that no way, styles make fights and Mike was all wrong for Roy.

Against even a shot Tyson, Roy would have looked great until eventually Tyson landed something. And then the match would have been over.

I just can’t see it happening for Roy. Tyson never lost his power. Eventually lost everything else, but not his power. And Roy just didn’t have the chin to take solid hits from a hard hitting natural HW.
