Of course they couldn't fight him, if he refused to make the biggest fights of the 90's, what could they do besides fight each other (which they did)!? Whilst Jones beat up the likes of blown up LW Pazienza.

Why didn't Jones fight Nunn? Who was his mandatory for years?

Look at the opposition Jones fought after James Toney until John Ruiz, it was disgraceful. Jones was a paper champion throughout his entire career, he never beat the man in any division he campaigned at. His opposition was so disgraceful, that fans started up a boycott of Roy's fights.

The guy spent his career avoiding legit challenges, Mike Mccallum was shot to **** when Jones fought him. Virgil Hill was coming off a gruelling loss to DM.

if who Jones fought was disgraceful look at their ledgers a bunch of english no names and a titlist sprinkled here and there...if you think Jones competition was bad then their's has to be awful in your eyes....its sad when one guy has beaten more champions than 4 guys combined just face the facts

You seem to have tip-toed around the subject of Jones refusing to make fights against the aforementioned fighters, despite them calling him out repeatedly and being willing to come to America. Instead, you've repeated the same things about Jones beating former champions, an example being a shot to **** Mike Mccallum, and Virgil Hill coming off a gruelling loss to DM. He was a paper champion throughout his career, and never beat the man in any division he campaigned at, never beat a single lineal, unified or undisputed champion. He was also a steroids cheat.

My issue with Jones is that he refused to make some of the biggest fights of the 90's, if you look at his career between Toney and Ruiz, I hardly see a meaningful fight. Despite the fact that the fights were there to be made!

and you ignore the fact that wins over Virgil Hill, Toney, Hopkins are bigger wins ands better fighters than the guys you are crying for...all of these guys remained world class until past 40 at higher weights when Eubank and company are watching tv.....these guys are HOF fighters...

No one really knows why these fights didnt happen, its spilled milk....Jones has a better resume than all of them let it go...if he aint fought nobody, they sure havent:hi: end thread

How were wins over shot fighters better than wins over the likes of Collins, Eubank, Benn and Mcclellan? Only in Roy Jones fanboy land, where opponents like Derrick Harmon, Rick Frazier and Glen Kelly are worthwhile.

Why didn't these fights happen? Let's take a look

From these fantastic posts by General Zod:

Steve Collins came up through the ranks of boxing the hard way. He didnt get to earn a big purse until he got lucky and fought Eubank, after Ray Close pulled out of the bout with Eubank. After the fight he calls out Jones saying that he wants to prove he is the best smw out there
Source: post fight interview for: Collins-Eubank I

Frank ****** made offers to Jones on behalf of Collins:

In 1997 Collins said he wasnt motivated to fight anymore and announced his retirement. Saying he wanted to only fight Jones and no one else

Jones would then make him an offer:

Collins was skeptical of the offer:
