Yeah Sanders at his absolute best "could" beat anyone of his era, not saying he would be he certainly could.
He could but I'd also argue that someone like Paulie Malignaggi could beat Manny Pacquiao. Realistically, it's not gonna happen but in boxing, you can't rule anything out.
He was the wbc no 1 contender. He had even took the wbc to court to force Lewis to fight him instead of Johnson. When Johnson pulled out HBO offered to pay Lewis more to take the fight, so he did.
Better put......... "The real question is, if Corrie Sanders trained in a boxing gym rather than a golf course This content is protected he This content is protected been beaten....."
He would have a decent shot, because he has a fast left with lots of power and most importantly he was a fat slob and didnt look challenging, Lennox was prone to underestimating guys, he did in rahman 1 and did when he thought he was fighting kirk johnson and ended up with vitali. Lennox would use his rematch clause though and come in 10 pounds lighter and KO sanders easy though if he did loose to him the first time.
Lewis avoided Sanders because he knew Sanders had a very good chance of knocking him out. If Lennox Lewis thought Corrie Sanders had a good shot of knocking him out, who am I to say otherwise?
First of all, both rahman and mccall had more power than sanders. Yeah sanders is faster, but at heavy, so what. His style didn't allow him to utilize his speed in tough fights. He ran out of energy after 5 rounds. Second, didn't sanders lose to rahman? Third, sanders didn't have enough power to take out Lennox imo.
corrie the LEGEND GROWS Sanders a prime corrie sanders feasted on journeymen or former cruiserweights and when he stepped up got KOd by Rahman...got lucky against wlad and got owned by Vitali..... he had a good punch but other than Wlad , who is his biggest win in 18 years? i cant find one
Exactly what iceman71 said really. Sanders did very little through out his career other than beat Wladimir. It's ridiculous to describe someone like Hasim Rahman or Oliver McCall as a "lesser fighter" when both achieved a great deal more.
Sanders could have ko'd Lewis easily, especially in the earlier years of his career. He was avoided like the plaque.
